the paladin legendary powers just got revealed and one of them read as follows: “Badge of the Mad Paragon: Hammer of Wrath extends Avenging Wrath by 3 sec and deals 20% additional damage”.
With a 7,5 second cooldown, if we somehow get 66% haste (crusade already has 33% built in) does that mean extremely long wing uptime as long as we have a target and are able to cast?
If so, this expansion is looking to be hella fun as a paladin player making sure your rotation is on point for maximum wings uptime seems like a fun playstyle to me.
You need 150% haste to reduce 7.5 sec cd to 3sec cd. 7.5*100/(100+150)=3 .
Personally i’ve had enough of wings gameplay. BFA ret was all about avenging wrath. Being very cooldown dependent seems a bit too niche to me. For a class that doesn’t have multiple dps specs i’d prefer ret have good sustained once.
That math makes more sense, still though, testing it currently on my paladin without any haste corruption I could easily get the cooldown to 4,5 seconds, so that would still be doubling the wings duration.
I agree that paladins feel awful outside of wings, but I don’t think that’s ever going to change to be honest. That new talent that triples our HP generation seems like a nice cooldown to use next to wings but it would be better ofcourse if we feel decent without our wings as well.
Also if we can equip two legendaries, final verdict also has a 50% chance to reset hammer of wrath cooldown, potentially lengthening the wings uptime even more in single target scenario’s.
