I started playing guardian druid and currently playing with my boomkin gear. I have 15% versa and only 8% mastery. What numbers do you recommend to play guardian?
I know that we dont have much against magic damage and and maybe more mastery/life would compensate that.
Typically ilvl trumps everything, but usually its a toss up between doing more damage as ours isn’t the greatest or going more defensive.
Typically we stack Versatility then mastery for defence or Versatility haste for damage.
We aren’t too heavily reliant on secondary stats to be fair but versatility we kind of get a double dip in it as it reduces damage taken and healing done.
I imagine this will only effect very high levels of play when cheesing mechanics with a one hit kill potential but some may pick mastery over Vers where they wouldn’t survive otherwise as it increases your max health in addition to healing received.
So basically
Versatility is the main stat, Only take mastery over it if you’re intentionally getting one shotted, and you can take haste for damage if you feel you need it.
Currently Id just stack vers till you get heavily reduced stat efficiency and go mastery after you’re soft capped vers.

ok thx for your post i would like to play a bit more defensive tank to become more confident with the spec.
Like said above,
Vers/Mastery if you want to get very tanky
Vers/Haste when you want/need additional damage
Mind you, the differences are small. Vers will remain your main focus to reduce the damage intake, also useful in PvP. I run the Vers/Haste combo myself as we lack damage compared to survivability. Doing Mythic keys between 12-14 and so far, it works like a charm.
There isnt encounter, or keys high enough, right now, where different stats will make it or break it.
U want to focus on ilvl as much as posible, doesnt apply to trinkets.
That bein said, vers/mastery is most defensive combo ( not needed)
For dps, sim.
