I have never played before. I know… late to the party. I don’t know how to start properly, what server is more populated, how to find a guild ,basic controls.Any sort of guide available?

- Realm
With a few exceptions, you should roll on a very populated realm where your faction is in an overwhelming majority.
For an Alliance character, roll on Silvermoon realm (or if you like the idea of Role Playing, roll on Argent Dawn realm)
For a Horde character, roll on Draenor realm.
- Guild
Guilds don’t matter until you are max level, level 120. They may not matter much then either, unless you are playing competitively. People don’t play together below level 120, because everybody levels at different rates, and everyone is doing their own levelling thing.
You can join any one of the guilds that advertises in Trade chat just to get your Hearthstone to cool down faster if you want. Don’t be afraid to join a guild; you can leave (gQuit) a guild at any time, and it’s no big deal.
Ultimately, there is no guide to getting “a guild”. On a populated realm, guilds are ten a panny. If you want something from the game that needs other people, whether it’s just friendly chat or hardcore raiding, you need to know what you want and look for the guild where you can find it.
- What to do.
Follow the quests! There are quests everywhere, and they all lead you to level 120 eventually. There’s a forum for new players here https://eu.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/c/guides/new-returning-player-questions-guides where you can ask any specifics.
There is a VAST amount of information on the net about everything in WoW. Vast. And players are expected to use it. This is not a cheat or a spoiler. The only problem is that most websites don’t update their info with time, so you can end up reading or watching stuff that is out of date.

Welcome to our addictive game,we hope you will have fun if you made it thru a lvling system. Important thing is fun , nothing else matters. If you decide to be more competetive I would start with:
- icy-veins
- curseforge /wow/addons
- wowhead
- skill-capped
You can use realmpop for choosing server.
About guild it depends what type content you will like PvP/PvE/RP or allin.
Controls depends on your preference I useing Q,E,R,T,F,C and shift + etc,
If you are into RP I would gladly recomment a Argent Dawn.

As for the OP, use the site Wowhead (As Aeddlaith mentioned) if you ever are wondering about something, they basically have guides for anything. information on every item and allows you to check out the talents for every class with a talent calculator.
Once you are in a good guild after using all the nice links people here posted, you will have plenty of people to ask for direct help. Most social guilds have members who are more than willing to help.
