This is a new kind of pvp style… Reminiscent of world pvp in low levels.
Groups of 5 to 15 people spawn at different sides of a map, packful with elite mobs of various kinds which has some abilities (kinda dangerous mobs).
You carve your way with your group to meet the enemy group. Now this is a detail but on your way, if you kill lots of mobs you may get more versality or something adventageous. Your ilvl is fixed just like current pvp gear.
Now even when 2 groups are met, they will need to care about their surroundings. Since there are a lot of mobs that respawn at fast pace. You will probably be very careful about kiting. You will need a tank cause there will be a lot of mobs constantly.
Threat generation, aoe damage, invis, feign death, even farseeing would be a useful ability. Rogues could try to assas other team members while both groups trying to reach other. Hunters camo, mages invis etc.
Talent builds would accually mean a lot in different playstyles. Both aspects of the game would merge.
This is why pvp during leveling is extreamly fun. Because you are already in a dangerous environment. You are hunted by it, but so is your opponent. That warrior is using that crapload of aoe build? Well, pull 3 mobs so he’ll think twice to agroo those elite mobs if he unleash on you. Pull 3 mobs and run to that mage, he cant burst aoe on all of you, But maybe he just can? When all of this happens in a 5vs5 group fight, Things would go down. Imagine those engagements with enemy faction during arathi basin. warsong, tarren mill, feralas (actual places while you were undergeared and underleveled).
Battlegrounds need chaos. We need unpredictable situations. Arathi basin is a picture of a battleground. It needs lots of mobs that are hostile to everyone. (maybe capturing bases could make them yellow or red)
These type of bgs could twist class soul and all its usefulness back into the game again. Even resting before pulls would mean something for the group’s situation. Mana could made to be a usefull mechanic. It would be much more of a rpg type play.
Now, they tried to put these pve elements in big maps like alterac valley. But lets be honest. If mobs are not dangerous, they are not there.
Same thing where m+ happens. People love it cause its dangerous. BGs need to be too. None would play dungeons if they were not mythic. Let mobs in bgs be even more powerful with your pvp rating. Automatic m+ for bg!
