With Christmas now a distant memory (heh) and the end of 2020 Patch 1.0 in sight, what might your resolutions for RP be for 20202?
Perhaps to host an event? To try something new, be that a new character or even a different RP concept altogether. Or even some progression for your own characters?
I personally hope to host an event (haven’t decided what) and to push Liao (this monk) to study further the power of Chi.

That’s a heck of a monkey’s paw wish if I’ve ever seen one given how some people choose to play pandaren (The same people that make it difficult to reccomend playing worgen or vulpera - you know the ones.)
On-topic though, mine’s kind of a simple one; just RP more. I sat out a lot of 2020 and 2021 due to IRL reasons, to the point where I was questioning if I even enjoy the whole hobby of RPing anymore. Turns out I do, just needed the right guild to make it happen and I found that guild earlier in the month.
Just wanna see what character arcs I can come up with, and more importantly which ones I can actually commit to.
in 10 letters. That being said, I think Pandaren RP dug it’s way out of the dark times of F*sao Dennelin. We’re keen to see more dedicated RPers within our small community to experience the richness and vibrancy of Pandaria in a first-hand manner.
That’s a decent resolution. I think I’ve been pretty lazy for most of 2021 due to the expansion and then the poor quality just making me not want to play.
Assuming I actually live to see the year 20202, I resolve to RP a character who deconstructs the idea that the early 21st century was the peak of pre-spaceflight civilization, just to spite those RPers whose characters are born out of misplaced nostalgia. I also resolve to incite my friends to gather around a physical table with their avatar bodies once in a while, so we can play digital pen and paper (using actual paper would be irresponsible towards the environment, of course), instead of just having simulations of the RP environment directly downloaded into our neural patterns.
On topic… whilst I haven’t formally made a New Years resolution related to RP, I do want to get back into the swing of things. In FFXIV and WoW both. IRL didn’t leave me much time for it these past few months.
So here’s to hoping things are going as well as they’re projected atm!
To host more events and storylines, especially ones in the Shadowlands while it is still possible. I’m pleased to have found a few death knights that have expressed interest in such. I aim to take full advantage of it.
I resubbed for about a week out of missing AD, but saw I’d quit at just the right time back in May, seeing that now the RP scene is understandably and justifiably in a quiet and sparse state. This would be upsetting, but honestly I’m glad for it, because after all the scandals it’s good to see some level of consequence on Blizzard’s end. If RP was thriving whilst all this is going on then I’d be tempted to reinstall, but as things are I’ve moved to other games.
So, my RP resolution is to find another game to roleplay on, whether that be ESO or finally trying out FF14. Doesn’t have to be anything super active, just fostering up a small and nice community. Be the change you wanna see, etc.
I’d be glad if you tried it, whether or not you’ll eventually end up liking it. Sadly, both the free trial and purchases have been suspended for now because of high server load.

I have considered playing pandaren IC, and I have a few character ideas floating about. But I’ve a question for you. Where might I find the pandaren RP? In Pandaria, of course, but where in Pandaria? And is there any active hours in specific? I’ve scouted around the lands a few times but I’ve usually found the land empty.
The RP resolution would be to try balance continuing Acrona’s story while bringing a brand new character (or, a family…) to life on FF14. My half a year WoW sub will finally expire in January and I’m not sure if I’ll subscribe for a while after that, but I don’t want to abandon the character’s journey altogether. While it’s in some way freeing to be able to toggle between two games/universes instead of depending on just one, I usually focus on one character at a time so it’ll be a new challenge, especially when the other game is still fresh and there’s so much content to play through.
