Next expansion, roughly?

Hello,

I know it’s never set in stone but typically when is the next expansion due? Looking to come back to wow eventually but most likely when the next expansion drops :slight_smile:

This expansion is here for like ~9 months? I expect the expansion to be current for ~2 years.

8.2 should be finally giving us bfa’s equivilant to legions suramar there’s alot of hype and alot of positivity surrounding it so it might be worth popping back just to see what thats like. I personally hope it also brings alot of narrative some much much much MUCH needed changes to some specs like frost dk and feral druid and that it isn’t just another wq grind fest. You can have a sneek peel on the 11th on twitch as there’s a live ptr reveal thingy showcasing 8.2.

If there’s a next expansion then it will be summer/fall next year. But if there will be a next expansion then they will announce it this year at Blizzcon.

They already said in blizzcon 2016 during legion they had enough resources even if the had 200,000 players another atleast 3 expacs .

This years Blizzcon will celebrate 15 years of WoW they will also announce the new expac there is no might .Most likely coming August/Sept 2020.

Interesting to know and thanks for the heads up. When is 8.2 going live? Or is this not known?

Not known yet I’m afraid 8.1.5 only came out recently and 8.2 isn’t on ptr just yet but i guess August / September time also don’t forget wow classic launches real soon and if you have an active wow sub you get to play that to.

one sub covers retail and classic so thats a good thing .

In about one and half years time you will get to go to Tortolia, home of the Tortolans.

Here another Horde War Chief has descended in madness and wants to control the turtle soup market for the horde side. The alliance and some rebel Horde band together to stop him/her from slaughtering all the Tortolans and controling the soup market.

Features will include a full size map of Azeroth for a mega Make Loh Go quest.

Summer 2020, at the very earliest, but the release schedule has already slowed down compared to Legion, so I would lean more towards end of 2020/early 2021, if anybody is still playing by then.

Of 7 expansions, only 3 have released in August/September, so it’s hardly a given…

You would however expect them to get it out before Christmas to boost sales and for anual financial results purposes…
