Night Elf Education?

So maybe my google-fu just failed me, but I had a hard time finding out where the NElves actually get their education. Back in Legion saw academies, but that was from during the reign of Azshara (from what I remember), there was a school in Stonetalon that was blown up, but that seemed to be focused on druids.
Feathermoon/Feathermoon Stronghold (my guess) is where the Sentinels and Huntresses get their education, yes I know a Huntress needs experience, but I presume like elite soldiers and officers IRL you still need to go through an extra kind of course.
Priestesses was the temple of Elune.
Still, what about your average Jane/Joe?
Is it just you go to Smith Smithbranch and apply as an apprentice?
Not to mention what about before you are old enough to take up any of these vocations?
Is it a family thing or do they have academies, a proper school system or perhaps it’s even more caste based (I seem to remember something like that, but it’s been a while), so: “Your mother was a Sentinel, you’re going to be a Sentinel, here pick up these weapons little 12 year old child and train for like 200 years before you go to boot camp”.

Finally, obviously there has been some major changes to NElf society, even since WC3 to WoW. So, maybe some of this was true in earlier lore but now due to WoW, Cataclysm and of course WoT many things are vastly different.

I’m curious what you guys think.

There are no schools in WoW at all. Blizzard usually trying not to add bad things into game. :sunglasses:

They aren’t educated. Night elves are like a playable monkey race, they just descended from trees and stumbled upon intelligent beings who took pity and taught them a thing or two.

i would wager they use a parent to child teaching system then a national education system

Night elven culture is heavily community based. For example in a village everyone knows one and other. I assume that this leads to a shared education from elders, priestesses, craftsmen etc. There are no official schools, or structured education, but everyone in the community contributes.

Their education is actually based on apprenticeship, pretty much like any rural dominated society.

I just remembered that there was some mage school which was opened by the Shen’dralar which joined the Night Elf society back in Cata. I guess all the other knowledge comes from humans :woman_shrugging:

Maybe when they’re older, yeah. But I imagine that children are more the responsibility of the community as a whole.

The Highborne started to teach willing Night elves, yes. I guess the Tower of Estulan in Feralas is closest to what you’d call a school.

Why do you need schools when you don’t have children? I don’t remember seing any NE kids in WoW.

Millenniums of being immortal made you forget what your tool was for that’s why there is not any children around same reason why night/high/blood elf women prefer human men

This is so boring! Let’s spice it up a bit: Blood elf (male or female) with a female orc!
