** * New Recipe: Umbra Essentia – Slink into darkness, reducing the chance for enemies to detect your presence. Effect lasts for 20 seconds–1 minute (depending on potion quality) or ends upon moving. 5 minute combat potion cooldown.
Developer’s notes: We’re adding a new potion in Ghosts of K’aresh that replicates abilities such as the Night Elf Racial Shadowmeld to address its prevalence in high-end Mythic+ play. As a large number of top-performing groups rely on Shadowmeld for certain strategies, we’re looking to offer access to that utility without being locked to a specific race with the goal of reducing the pressure on group composition.**
It’s funny that they address Shadowmeld, but completely refuse to address Stoneform. I’ve had friends race change from their preferred race into Dwarf because it makes such a huge difference, while none have ever changed race to Night Elf for an ability that is rather niche outside of very high end play.
That being said, they’ve shown us actual Night Elf Paladins in Legion and nothing ever happened with that. Then they introduced cool holy moon warriors in BfA, and again, nothing. Then, out of the blue, we got Tauren and Draenei Rogues and Warlocks, completely antithetical to their belief systems (and size). I think NElf Paladins are kind of overdue.
I have no objection to Night Elf Paladins. They should have been a thing since Legion but I don’t think meld was something that was stopping Nelf palas.
We should also get other races for paladin as per the Tyr questline in DF.
But they should already release content patch for a quest. That lets us go to dragonflight speak with an old lore chad tyr and lets us do a quest in the new night elf zone that we never visited and meet Tyrande and she lets us in to the faction with Lunar sabers as paladin steads.
like they got so much free time on their hand to do this lore for us normies.
personally I’m still a hard no for nelf paladins because we have no arguement for nelf society to adopt, train and house Paladins, esp. since they already have their answer to a ‘holy warrior’ archetype in priestesses of the moon (which I consider spellbows because of wc3).
Delas is explained ‘to find her true path in the light’, personally, I see that as them saying turned away from Elune. I don’t see their whole society doing that, so Delas Moonfang is not a great arguement for it.
Depends if you look hard in the lore in classic there was an quest with a night elf in Darkshore that was a night elf paladin hidding.
They could implant it either other way they want they could let us go find that night elf travel back in time and save her. We get a completely new night elf paladin set to go with that questline along with weapons and new paladin steads that we can remodel in barber shop.
Like its a hard W if they do this
And we can retire old paladin class mount as an achivement.
I mean the outdated model that we use now for divine stead they could add in an option for a new HD mount that lets all paladins choose whatever mount they want for their divine stead when they mount up instead of the boring standard mount.
Its like warlocks pets iconic thing they can fix up to look good in barber shop
and retire the old one as an achievement or something.
They can even roll out the patch for night elf paladins when numbers drops down in season 3 mid.
Make it about alleria windrunner man turalyon bless you or something lets us travel through time and see stuff there is so much they can do in this, Let us see the Attack on the lordaeron see the Orcs attacking the city during the second war and we play as Paladins trying to save the city. (we can see Uther giving us orders to save people)
Then after we get new moon saber steads for night elf and new divine steads for all other races like they can make a specific night elf quest for obtaining the night elf paladin class.
and a new questline to obtaining the new models for divine stead so you can fix it in barbershop.
and if the Lordaeron city defense turns out to be a great dungeon they can add it as a permanent dungeon in 11.2.5 we see young alleria windrunner man turalyon trying to save the city.
Like caverns of time needs new dungeons.
Literally there’s so much they can add instead of this potion
If we can have Tauren Priests and Paladins and Gnome Priests, then there’s no reason not to give Night Elves Paladins. Just call them Sunwalkers Moon Guards and that’s that.
Moon Guards were elite mages who protected Kaldorei empire back in Azshara times so that name is taken. Though it could be used as a gateway to nelf paladins - rebirth of Moonguard, this time without arcane magic but holy light instead.
Also on topic, NIGHT elves whole theme is moon and stars - things that give dim pale light shining during night. While Holy Light is more about bright day light and suns golden rays so it would look a bit wrong. Like MOONkins whose half spells are sun themed nowadays.
I was making a point that if a simple “I pulled this race specific name out the nether, so this race can have that class” works for Tauren who are not known for their adherence to an organised and dogmatic religion, then there’s no reason why the Night Elves - a deeply dogmatic religious society built around their Priestesses - cannot have literal religious warriors.
