Lore fits perfectly – Elune’s power already heals, shields, and purifies. We have Blood Knights, Sunwalkers, and Zandalari Prelates. A “Templar of the Moon” order is the natural Night Elf version.
Gameplay – Night Elf mains get access to a full tri-role plate class without rerolling races. More flexibility for raids, M+ and PvP.
Aesthetic goldmine – Moonlit spell effects, silver-blue paladin armor, and a Nightsaber charger. Easy to implement, huge player hype.
Story potential – Ordainment quests under Amirdrassil, a new knightly order alongside the Sisterhood of Elune.
This isn’t “just a Priest in plate” — it’s the frontline defenders of Elune’s faith.
The lore supports it, the gameplay needs it, and the community wants it.
Original paladins just took power from the “light”, not a specific source. Draenei paladins from the Naru, Sunwalkers from the sun, Bloodknights stole from a naru and later from the Sunwell? Prelate trolls from some Loa god?
I see no reason that they cant get it from Elune “the moon goddes”. In the end the light from the moon is just a reflection from the sun.
All paladin orders are diffrent and pray to a seperate entity.
You mean about the original paladins part? They just called it the light, if it was the Naru that bestowed them the power the paladins of the time didnt know about them. So praying directly to them or not didnt matter for them to weild the light.
