Hello. If we have panda as DK and etc why we cant have this 2 elf races to be DH too?
Lore-wise it makes no sense. Here’s why:
Void Elves are basically working with a similar concept to demon hunters. As we all know, demon hunters infuse themselves with fel and a demon, thus being in “constant battle” with that inner demon and fel energy.
Void elves infuse themselves wtih the void and are seemingly going through the same struggle. How would they manage to battle against both void and fel energies? It is kind of a far-fetch to do, as I understand in terms of aesthethic and people wanting new races to be demon hunters, it makes no sense for void elves for this reason.
As for Nightborne, they are mana-infused elves, kind of similar to how demon hunters and void elves work, but not with that horrible internal struggle. However, you should view them as metamphetamine addicts as that is basically what they are. Mana for them is a drug that they use to keep themselves the way they are, the suramar well, etc, all that stuff.
Well, keep in mind that the current surviving highborne also have immense hatred towards the Legion and anything to do with it, it is very unlikely they will allow people of their race to be trained as demon hunters. Moreso because the process itself takes ages, only 1 in 10 survives or something like that and the risk of going full-blown mad is far too great for them to bare.
The only reason we HAD demon hunters in the first place was because they had lost everything to the Legion, or something similar depending on which elf it is, and joined up as followers of Illidan, who offered them a way to seek vengeance AND protect Azeroth at the same time.
Now that the Legion is dealt with and is basically no more, why would there be any need for new demon hunters? There is no demonic threat, not at least at this point of time, that would require them to exist. Basically, demon hunters are useless (lore-wise) except for their incredible combat abilities, which I don’t know how useful they will be against Void and stuff in the future, we will see.
So to sum up my opinion on this (all of this is based on MY opinion only, the way I view the lore and from what I have also seen around as other people’s opinions) is that there is no logic regarding lore that can give us Nightborne/Void Elf demon hunters, as it would make their lore confusing and inconsistent.
Didn’t we cure them and more or less destroy the Nightwell in Legion?
When you say lore frienly and other things just remember that zandalari cant be paladins for the first time, and hazzicostas letthem be paladins after s h itshtorm on forums from fanboys that begged him for that.
Blizzard dont give a f c k abut lore when the want
Nightbourne could make sense. Some cult of nightbourne capturing left over demons and sucking up their power.
Void elfs don’t make sense anyway, how are they a race? Drenai or Broken would make make sense, they spent enough time around the demons
Only Nelfs and Belfs can be DHs because they were the only allies of Illidan who are playable races. Adding new DH races would require something like we have now for DKs, a way (The Lich King creating new ones) and a motive (He feels the need to create more DKs because of what’s happening).
I guess lore-wise the Illidari can train new DHs but there isn’t exactly a demon threat right now for them to do that in large numbers.
Yes, they can do the same as they done with allied DK - short prequest. Other races, expecially elf-ones can be presented as recruits, because in Legion we were able to recruit new illidari, so we can be one of them.
they can do whatever they want, actually. The lore is adapting to the game, and not the opposite .
If they are adding new races as demon hunter I’d like to see for
alliance: human and space goats
Horde: forsaken and orc
Out of them all forsaken would be my absolute favourite. The main reason I can’t play demon hunters is I hate elves
Nightborne would go insane.
Void elves would explode.
Chaos is unstable, it’s the complete opposite of arcane. Nightborne feed on the arcane, and void elves are fundamentally incompatible.
Chaos seeks to destroy void, the two energies clashing would have…explosive results.
Not sure if i would agree. In the Pre-Legion novel (if i remember correctly) it’s said that only elves have the reflexes needed for the Training / Job of Demonhunter.
There has been a human demon hunter already as well as naga demon hunters
I would love to see other races as playable DH, especially orcs and humans. I am sure Blizz will do it in the future.
where? Could you give me the source of this?
Stop being lazy use google
I know of Fel-Orcs and Naga working for the Demon-Hunters, but not of Orcs or Naga going through the full ritual of consuming a demon and containing / controlling the demonsoul within themselves. And i found nothing by using google about it.
Go to your Legion class hall. Look at your champions. There ya go
I know the champions in the order hall, There is a Naga among them, but she’s not a demon-hunter. She serves the Illidari, nothing more.
Just to be sure i looked them up again, they all have classes:
Vengeance demon hunter (Asha Ravensong, Belath Dawnblade, Jace Darkweaver)
Havoc demon hunter (Allari the Souleater, Altruis / Kayn Sunfury, Kor’vas Bloodthorn)
and Outcast (Akama, Matron Mother Malevolence, Lady S’theno)
So there are still no Naga-DHs in lore. And i really don’t know where one would get the Idea of Orc-DHs.
Ah well my bad.
Demon hunters will be destined to suck stuck with the two lamest races in the game
Sorry, but i think Orcs / Humans are to “normal” for this, no special reflexes, no extraordinary lifespan for training, no special connection to magic.
If there are more races for DH in the making, i think it would be Draenei, because of their lifespan (for mastering skills) and connection to magic. And they have a really long history with demons.
On the Horde side the Nightborne would work, they live of magic, just like the BEs do, and as we saw, they are able to use Fel-Magic instead. Aditionally they live long, and have the same extraordinary reflexes as other elves.
The Voidelves can’t really work according to present lore, because Fel and Void magic in combination make things go boom.
