Why is it a robe? Is there at least an alternative if you're not a caster?

It looks bad on casters too. Pants don't make a good mog. The blood elf heritage armor robes look amazing.
The Mag'har one is kinda similar.

I think this should be taken on board by the dev team. They’ve done it with blood elves, why not nightborne.
this is the problem when they don't make heritage armour per class .. and just make one set for all classes .. some classes just look completely stupid :P

It's a real shame, Nightborne are a fantastic race but are utterly unfinished. Not only in their naked models, but in terms of transmog customization.
As you say, a Nightborne caster with the heritage armor does look great but besides that there aren't an awful lot of options. I've looked through virtually every leather set in the game to suit a Nightborne Rogue, and for the life of me there is just none that exist.
If they gave the heritage armor a tunic option (same as the Blood Elf heritage armor), and made the NPC Nightborne armor and weapons available to players, this issue would be solved. Seems like an easy solution, these exist in the game, they just have to find a way to make them available.

Protip: all elves look bad as melee. Skinny just doesn't cut it for brawly combat.
You don't have to use the full set for tranmog. You already wear tabard so just tranmog your chest into somthing else that will get hidden by the tabard. Underneath you'll find pants.

While they are at it, maybe put some effort into the pants and feets aswell, as they made it look ugly since it will be hidden by a robe.
Now that they have reduced armor work with 80% by removing tier sets, they could at least make some effort on heritage armor.
Tho im pretty happy with mag`har heritage :)
Wouldnt mind another option for casters tho, same for iron dwarf.
