Nightborne need 3 more things to be PERFECT

  • mana/arcane infused hair and fingertips

We can see this on many Nightborne npcs in Suramar, they have what appears to be some magical energies flowing through their hair. Same with their hands, they are literaly glowing white since they are infused with magic. We can most easily notice it by looking at Thalyssra’s model in Nightborne’s starting area. Valtrois and few other Nightborne characters also have glowing hands.

  • fix male Nightborne’s strange M shaped lips on half of their faces

The most youthful looking of new male faces for Nightborne unfortunately has a scowl which makes it look like the character was unnecessary angry all the time. It is the issue with like half of male’s faces. Why are they like that? Females have none of that M shaped angry lips and what’s even more strange I remember that when playable Nightborne were first datamined in Legion, literally NONE of their faces had that strange scowl and their lips looked normal. Only in a later updated something had to be broken and half of their lips seemed to get mixed with some angry looking male nelf’s faces. It doesn’t fit the race and it doesn’t look good - please fix it!

  • make red/golden tint of Nightborne’s heritage armor that was datamined back in Legion finally available to players

Not much to add here. It would look PERFECT with new golden jewelry Nightborne are getting. Seems like something obvious to add but I hope they don’t forget about it.

That’s all. I love the rest of Nightborne’s customization, makes me really excited to play this race and finally look like Suramar npcs. I know you guys at Blizzard are already working hard on this for us but please just consider these couple changes while you’re still at making Nightborne’s customization so you don’t have to revisit it for a while. These seem small and not that important but would really enchant Nightborne’s character fantasy.

Love these ideas! Fel green glowing fingertips for Nightborne warlocks would also be awesome.

It would be great for all heritage armours to have different colour variants (like Mag’har Orcs get) to fit different colours of jewellery (or limbs in the case of Mechagnomes).

I couldn’t agree more. Glad I’m not the only one.
I keep hoping Blizz will still listen to us.

Arcane and Fel glowing finger options would be lovely. I would totally use it for my Nightborne mage and Warlock.

I’d actually love Class-specific customizations for all races. We know that proximity to Fel affects your appearance, so it’d be cool if Warlock characters could have options to reflect that. Imagine Dark Iron Warlocks with Fel Fire beards, Belves with features like the ones from the Sunwell raid, or Orcs with burning green eyes like the Tanaan Fel Orcs!

And that’s just Warlocks, there are all sorts of cool customizations other classes could have.

My main is a warlock, so I heartily approve all of these ideas!

This, and a fel tint for the warlocks as another pointed out. Will definitely make it so the shal’dorei are easily noticed :star_struck:

Aren’t you mistaking it to our heritage armor by accident? Red and gold is typically a belf color variation. Nightbornes are mainly blue-purple, and green for Felborne.

I’d add fix male nightborne animations pls, they look terrible. Night elf animations are horrible in general, but on nightborne are double horrible since those are intended for way more buff and muscular characters.

Their melee animations are the worst

Very good Sum up, thanks for the input.
Mana hair and hands is something I would love to see as it realy defines them and seperates them fro m Night elves.

With that said I would like to add some feedback/suggestion. While looking at the hairstyles I was dissappointed to not see the 2 iconic hairstyles the Nightborne nps have. It’s about 1 for female and 1 for male. Silgryn is the best example for Male Nightborne here.

And for female I am talking about the simple, yet very elegant long sidebangs resting on shoulders. This https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/wowpedia/images/1/18/Arcanist_Valtrois.jpg/revision/latest/smart/width/250/height/250?cb=20161122235810

This Hairstyle with long side bangs and the long ponytail is probably the most iconic male hairstyle in the game. This hairstyle and maybe others such as Valtrois could have mana hair toggle.

Copy over from last wish nightborne thread, not sure where to post ptr or general to get noticed, so here we are. The same thing aplies to great suggestions from everyone. Love Op points.

Gotta say… the most important things have already been said, but Mana hair and hands is something I would love to see as it realy defines them and seperates them from the Night elves.

This hairstyle was implemented on the old model for showcasing, it looks dope as hell. This Hairstyle with long side bangs and the long ponytail is probably the most iconic male hairstyle in the game.

Some of the proportions for the male model would need a second look imo.

  • Hands are too big, this has been said many times already, but still wanted to include it
(maybe slightly shorten the arms as well a tad, something looks off here)
  • shoulder size
  • Chest feels weirdly widen out and makes some chest pieces look weird when they are stretched like that.
  • They are a bit bulky in general, when comparing myself to a male nps such as Silgryn you will see npcs are bit slimmer and have narrow features in their face/cheeks, would be awesome to get a more starved look if you know what I mean.
  • Ear size of the male model needs to be thinner, they are to bulky and don’t reflect their npc counterparts who have slimmer ears, but still long. → (see image -^ for reference)

Final thing would be the eyes still, I love the new ones, but could we have a third one that narrows it a bit more? npcs eyes are still more narrow then what we got. Making it a third option would be welcome change so people who like this one, don’t have to worry it’s replaced for example. Just made this on the ptr for reference.

Some one added the npc eyes on the actual nightborne model.

Most of te stuff was already covered and it’s realy… a hand full of smaller additions and would make it almost exactly like the real one (npcs)

Thanks so far for the Nightborne update and hopefully we could see these things happening. If you guys make it happen I would say that you have succesfully updated the Nightborne to make them more like their originals and a lot more people will play them will bet on that.

Before Nightborne were first introduced as playable race, there were 2 armor sets, purple we got for our heritage armor and red recolor with golden elements.

Here you can see how it looks. It’s in the game since Nightborne were introduced but was never made usable by players.

Shameless repost in the hopes that more visibility = more chance of action.

Like many others have said, the new customisation is amazing and really helps bring home the look and feel of the Nightborne closer to how they were originally envisioned in Legion. Combined with the ‘heritage’ weapons being available on the time-walking vendor, we’ve been pretty lucky. There’s just a few things more that can tip the quality into perfection.

The jewellery is by far the most impressive and varied addition. With an addition of bronze and the dull greeny-silver colour used by some NPCs to accompany the new gold and silver colours, this would fully complete the metallic vibe nightborne have. (Top two below)

Imgur

More importantly to nightborne, however, is their magical side. Unlike the NPCs, players have almost zero options regarding such; lacking the magical hands, mana-infused hair and glowing tattoos that can be found on various nightborne mobs. Despite the new tattoos looking brilliant, they are hard to see without correct lighting – something that could be amended by having a toggle for the luminosity of their glow, from its current dimness to a more vibrant purple or blue. As for the magical hair, something like the Dark Iron and their fiery highlights would work wonderfully.

Finally for raw customisation is eye colour. We are still stuck with just one option, even lacking the purple tint that almost every nightborne bar the felborne have – I’m pretty sure we had this tint at one point, but lost it in an update.

Less to do with the imminent customisation is changes to their heritage armour. Of-course there’s the secondary heritage armour variation in gold and red just sitting around in the files, which we would all love to see. (Especially now that we have golden jewellery to match it!)

In a more involved manner, there are several fixes that can be made to the heritage armour as it is. As already posted here, the male chest-piece could use an exposed chest to show off the tattoos beneath – but there’s also quite a large flaw in using the heritage pieces for transmog that this picture adequately shows:

With the chest stealing all 3D geosets including the robe piece, it is impossible to have a robeless look while maintaining most of the heritage parts.

These are the few additional changes that would really complete nightborne for me, barring slight model edits for the male that other posters have gone into in greater detail!

no they don’t.

Step 1: Make playeable race as good as the NPCs.
Step 2: Add some options from the artworks.
Step 3: Add some nightfallen & felborne options.

I really want this purple leylines.
