New runes? New dungeons? loots, quests, items?
new class? races? heroics?
just giving up on sod? 
I would be happy if they just kept an active server going.
Even if they made new items, dungeons or hc dubgeons. It would take time to create and implenting it.
Months maybe. So you still would have to wait.
They can add TBC, and let it open in phases just as lv 60 content

well in their original blue post aggrend said that they will slow down on SoD. wich gives a little hope that maybe some small new/revamped existing content will still come over time but not at the speed we are used too now for SoD. i mean why say it like that if they would stop working on SoD for good. then he would not say slow down but then he would just say we stop work on SoD and be done with it. he saying slow down gives me a bit of hope that we still get some stuff in SoD in a couple of months or so maybe 2or3 months after classicMoP went live. that seems reasonable

It just might not be worthwhile from their point of view.
Seems to me people are content replaying the same old stale vanilla/tbc/hardcore formula. This free boost for SoDers move is a sly push for people to move on, there’s also summer coming and most guilds will likely suspend scheduled raids, who knows really how populated SoD realms will be in 1 or 2 months with all the doom and gloom and nothing to look forward too.
It will probably dwindle into classic era numbers of activity , in that case it really wouldn’t justify investing man hours for it.
Their time would be more wisely used decoupling the next season or whatever classic project they have in mind from the current classic client so that they can realize all kinds of crazy sh*t without having to think twice about messing up the other versions of the game. The only downside is that whatever is next will be at least 1 year away since you’d want to keep that secret until blizzcon 2026
