No heritage armor for boosting an Allied race?

May I ask why?
Can’t you just scale up whatever questline is involved in that process and give us that?

The questline is levelling your allied race from 20-110.

Maybe you can use a 120 boost on it and once you have done enough quests to have earned the XP for the intervening levels you can get the heritage armour.

Well that’s a very disputable design choice from Blizzard.
I had no Horde character at all prior to this, so I just endured leveling a character from 0 to 110 the hard way just so that I could then unlock the Nightborne.

Was I expected to go through this a second time? No way.

Too bad. No heritage armor then!

That is currently the price for the heritage armor. And I like that there is some hurdle to go through to get it.

My opinions on gatekeeping the allied races of a legacy expansion, or the leveling experience entirely. Is a completely different matter.

As bad as it mind sound, I think Blizzard can take it

Agreed, I’m completely fine with it being locked behind some kind of achievement or questline to complete.

Preventing you from accomplishing that questline just for using the boost which comes with the expansion that introduces allied races, however…

Just wait till SL release then lvling will be fast af

Unfortunately it seems, time played in WoW, has become a important metric to show to share holders as profits.
Which means, boosting for heritage armor is bad, while making you go through the leveling process is good.

So everything that can make you play for longer hours is ok for them.
I expect to see more of this design philosophy in the future, sadly.

Cheers.

Most heritage armors are such a waste of armor design. I have all but druid at 120 and the thought of leveling another makes my stomach turn even if the armor looks good the idea of going trough outlands and wotlk again after umphteenth time is not something i want to do.

Maybe if the leveling is a lot faster in shadowlands then maybe.

I barely see any of the allied races with heritage armor so i would say most of the time designing them has been a gigantic waste if you scale it with the effort going through 119 levels of absolute boredom.

Maybe if the leveling was faster there was 50% of less levels or the leveling would be more dangerous journey or actually rewarding.

Shadowland expansions hit:

Allied race leader: You have done it hero!, you have proven to our allies that we are a strong force!, may i ask you what heroic deeds you have done to prove this to them?
Me: Ehh?, trasure hunting in dranor?, i might have scared off a snake at some point…
Allied race leader: Exalent work!, now, have this set as a sign of your power!
Me: Thanks…i think?

Edit: I am sure it even says it at some place that “you will not earn heritage armor on boosted chars”…as someone replied here, its cuz the “quest line” so to speak is truely the 20 to 110 exp.

The end quest is just “hit lvl 110, get a quest to talk to a NPC”…then you talk to the NPC and they gratz you, then give you some gear that they hold dear in a way…and thats it, no OP quest to unlock it (atleast not for allied race)…the other race do have a special quest chain for thier gear, but, as stated, lvl 20 to 110 is the journy / quest for allied race ^^.

It was supposed to work the other way round.

  1. Don’t have a Horde character
  2. Boost a Horde character
  3. Unlock a Horde Allied Race
  4. Level 1-110
  5. ???
  6. Prof… I mean, Heritage Armor

It’s one of the few things left that can’t be skipped with real money. Leave it alone, please.

If you want Nightborne theme armor but you dont want to level all the way up to 120.

Then go with Silkweave Armor- low-key Nightborne armor style. You get it from AH for coins.

For Allied races yes, we can boost when it comes to non allied races but you still have to do the rep grind.

I don’t know why they did it this way other than to promote levelling. Part of the make people play more metrics.

Levelling doesn’t take that long really.

And it’s going to be up to 70% faster in Shadowlands.

I just used the boost to get an Alliance character and level up the AR character.

So you don’t have to do it twice.

You people are so lazy, like I don’t get it. Yes levelling is tedious, but it’s the fact that you are not enough with anything.
Be happy it’s not gated by MTS or some other ridiculous grind like Mechagone rep or whatever, or does not require any other achievements on top of unlocking the race.

Jeez, get a bone
