Then you just move on. there is no need to dwell on the past. You will all be geared eventually, Unless blizz decides to add a new patch and raid that invalidates all progress before you get full gear ofc.
unfortunately they bring back the worst aspects of classic instead of the ones the people actually wanted, surprise surprise.
gear will change again.
blizzard are testing out new gearing methods and the likelyhood is theyâll look at improving the system over the course of this expansion.
weâll likely see in S2 when tier sets come in the 35 anima reward replaced with a currency to buy tier set pieces which in itself lets u buy 5 pieces of ur gear so gearing naturally will become slightly more concrete
if they undo the ilevel disparity also thatâd likely help, i get on BFA model us equalizing heroic raid gear from dungeon drops was too far⌠but with the loot drop ratios of today theres no real problem anymore.
At this speed and with the history of frequency between patches thats a huge possibility.
ill celebrate that randomly joe got his bis items tho, #progressinthewaragainstthejailerasawhole
I donât raid on retail, because itâs indeed too much effort for little to no reward, i did my progress raiding in legion, going entire raid nights or even weeks just trying to push bosses without any thing to show for it.
Classic raids are easier, so raiding is indeed more fun there, and the loot is less impactful so you donât mind having slightly less loot there.
there we go, we think alike at the end of the day good dwarf.
its amazing that in one sentence u say the current drop rates and more are completely fine and in the next sentence state u dont play that side of the game anymore because of those dropratesâŚ
you litterally echoing their problem with the situation.
That does not invalidate what i said before⌠I just donât enjoy progressing for hrs and learning mechanics, But those that do still progress and gear together.
According to this:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Gfj745RG8I37XJh3bZxx_8AiK0Exii9xoy9i-KShFDs/edit#gid=0
Youâre among the 19.69% of players who did not recieve any loot from any particular level of difficulty in raiding within a week.
But last week, you were amongst the 39.15% of players who got 1 loot for 5 bosses.
Sounds pretty normal to me.
iirc the drop rates and stuff from classic with the âloot is meaningfulâ Stuff was one of the first things to be brought up as a massive positive for the game by alot of players maybe thats why its the first thing brought back i guess
saying that i will be suprised if we dont see loot changes in Season 2 in reflection to the fact its obvious the compromise between 2 is defintly not met⌠loot got rarer but its gotten so rare that its upset another side of the game.
If theyâre smart theyâll replace the 35 anima Reward with a currency to buy the Tier Set pieces, which will cover 4 slots at Raid ilevel value. then apply that currency to a VP Style which allows u to buy some mid tier quality gear to hold u over.
well being on sick leave+quaranteed ive had alot of time, and man have i put effort into gearing my dk main.
i had bad luck, and having bad luck in sl is really bad. 8 hc bosses, 10 m+ dungeons (everyone timed at +10 and one +12) and grinding honor at rival bracket unlocked 8/9 slots in great vault. offering no really good upgrades. 1 item i could use dropped in dungeons. Now thats very very many hours spent. Put in same effort in legion or bfa and you would have got something in return for it worthwile the effort.
Conclusion: im not gearing a second main anytime soon. Motivation to do it just died.
have to admit ive been doing 4 chars, a Spriest, a Hunter, a Shaman and a Druid and it does feel alot worse when ur doing 3 or so keys per char and sometimes u see ur char just get absolutely nothing.
does make u think if spamming endlessly with one char is the answer.
this chars my highest, i think my others are 190ish but i aint bleeding edge none of my chars are like 210 or anything.
They should have learnt from last failed shooter looters.
I donât recall which one is it, exactly⌠But at least one of them has scarce loot and low upgrade probability.
Ok, basically, when it comes to looting, thereâs two things to watch:
- frequency of item dropping (loot frequency)
- likelihood of any item to be an upgrade (upgrade probability)
Experience has shown that looting becomes enjoyable when either of these become true:
- high loot frequency and low upgrade probability
- low loot frequency and high upgrade probability
only thing im gonna care to do. have no motivation or time to put in the same effort with another char anytime soon.
its likely the actual problem⌠the current loot system achieves neither of these.
theres still too much variation of loot to really be condensed down to every piece being rewarding while feeling like theres barely any loot from each boss due to droprates.
that and 35 anima is a slap in the face xD Its my entire problem with the system, it makes u get more annoyed at the fact u got no loot then getting no loot to begin with did. Anima is a aesthetical reward that has 0 relevency to the progression of your characters power, why is a +15 key awarding it.
if they had a currency like valor introduced upon this system and we could actually use the currency to buy some pieces of gear. itâd go a large way to fixing the situation
for example, if u did 6 runs with 0 loot, but now u find a vendor, which u have got enough currency to buy a 203 item for example, ur going to feel ALOT Better about the fact uâve just chosen a Reward for urself, even if u didnt get any gear from the RNG loot system from the game. the fact u can buy something of optimal secondary stats for a Piece of armour u need that upgrade for will feel rewarding in itself because u know for a period of time uâve earnt a BiS piece
then at the end of the week u can choose another piece of loot based on the ilevels u did in that dungeon.
At least one of my friends have had no loot for 3 raids so far. Topping that, he loses all the /roll, as half the raid /roll on every itemâŚ
Meanwhile, I get about as much as I used to, so I feel kinda crap about itâŚ
tbh iâve been on both sides so far
i had a day where i jumped 11 ilevel.
the next day i litterally gained 0 ilevel
2 days after that, iâve gained 6 ilevel
feels like day 1 had some worth, but i coulda spent the next 3 days in bed and not lost alot
i think the system needs some fine tuning in all honesty. it just needs a few additions to bring it back uptoo par really. I dont think the system just needs a flat undoing⌠but i think theres some holes they could fill and itâd meet the playerbase on better terms then this one.
i imagine weâll see the Real outcry when they the large nerfs and buffs happen, When someone feels like they need to reroll to be accepted into content due to their class being overnerfed or something.
Like druids a high anticipated nerf, however when you actually break down their kit if they nerf both places where druids currently are considered overpowered the specc will drop to tank level DPS over night.
because the reason they appear so strong in some situations, is because Starfall can kinda âpad DPSâ in some enviroments and convokes been buffed Waay over the top to fix the problem with balance druids current low sustained damage.
they nerf em and balance will lose alot of viability and weâll see the true uproar when someone whos put all that work into their main character to suddenly find themselves underperforming or being benched.
If we were to redesign the drop rates, weâd also have to consider the expected time to get âfully gearedâ.
What does it mean to be fully geared, though? Hence the quotes. Basically, instead of âfully gearedâ, itâs probably best to consider how much times does it takes to attain a given character ilvl.
Now, you can also consider there are 4 levels of difficulty (including LFR), but if you prefer, you can do it with 3 levels of difficulty (as LFR starts later, it can be somehow considered an extra feature rather than being in the core of the system).
So, generally speaking, if you have k levels of difficulties and these difficulties rewards item whose ilvl range from N to N+kD, where N is the lowest ilvl and D is the step increase by ilvl⌠Well, you get it, I thinkâŚ
Then, youâd have to consider how much time each level of difficulty should take, I guess.
And that probably depends on the duration of your own development cycle (as a game developer, I mean).
See where I go ?
yeah, meaningful loot =/= no loot at all/loot scarcity. blizzard is just absolutely unable to implement something right. they always only go half way. nothing is ever thought through.
for me, loot has become actually the oposite of meaningful. i hate it now with all my heart. gearing now feels like an utter waste of time and i cant bring myself to gear my alts and its probably just a matter of time until i quit.
at least in bfa you had choice. you could tweak your trinkets/stats, heck, i even collected gear for other specs and looking back at it i really loved that. now you are just glad anything drops at all and pray its not your legendary slot.
i wished blizzard would evolve from and not devolve into classic. if i wanted to play classic i know where to go, but i dont.
