No more Zekvir ? ? in the future please

I dont support bad design like Zekvir. :point_left:

Found the fight very cheap.
Stun and one shot kills me every time on any class

How enslaved are you to your need to collect mounts that this is genuinely upsetting to you? It’s optional content.

I’m working on the fight with an aim to finish it before the season is out because I enjoy the process of learning and improving, and the sweet feeling of victory.

If I didn’t enjoy that process no mount could persuade me to do it.

Personally I am grateful there is a piece of capstone content beyond just clearing Delves at Tier 11. Looking forward to what future seasons cook up.

u need 14-15 ilvl more. and that’s literally it.

I agree it’s not fun but uhhh i wouldnt try on 621. I can imagine not enough DPS for killing eggs or bursting things

“Without effort”.

Just because something is easy for you does not mean that someone who hasn’t yet managed it has not spent effort.

but tbh… 658 tries… thats what RWF take to kill last boss of mythic while undergeared. I think he is like in that Patrick Bateman meme where he goes for 100th time for a boss fight knowing he won’t adjust strategy or plan

At the same time, the reward is so bad and mediocre that most people should just shrug and move on. it’s not even achievement for points - it’s FoS :stuck_out_tongue:

This puts it really well.
The concept behind Zekvir is good. It’s solo content, it’s a challenge, and it’s beatable.
The problem lies with the execution:

  • It’s RNG dependent, which can really screw over an attempt, e.g. egg spawns in his frontal cone as an example.
  • It’s not meant for every class/spec combo. This is my main gripe with the encounter tbh. You’re forced to reroll into a very specific setup instead of having a chance on your current build. More a Blizzard problem with balancing though than the fight itself.

I like the challenge of this as well, and it being soloable means I can do it on my terms.
Except I can’t? I wish Blizzard really had put more effort into sorting this out.
I love my setup for warrior, it’s amazing in Raids and dungeons to control the situation.
But being told to “reroll” to just beat this is not fun, it’s frustrating.

If you can burst the cocoon every and each time down, then its clearly more an issue of performing flawlessly for 5 minutes AND be RNG blessed aswel.

Im still trying to kill it. I fail. But i will get better!. It just hurts my ego and my gold purse.

:joy::rofl::sob:

or maybe just try with friends and do it in grp not solo?

but the achievement!

there are two 1 for killing at all and one solo

kill him with friends then u will be half done then try solo

The fight’s really not tuned that high. Even 620 is above what it feels like it was tuned for. The initial tuning was roughly 620 maybe but since then they halved the DPS check.

The fight teaches / incentivises a lot of new skills for players who mostly haven’t encountered them before. One of those skills is cd allocation / damage management. Working out what you need to hold / commit to kill an egg and then having the discipline to stick to that throughout the fight is much MUCH more important than ilvl.

Obviously having more ilvl means needing to commit / plan less, but you’ll be able to do the fight much earlier and more consistently if you take the time to learn the skillset the fight’s trying to encourage / teach.

Oh I love those “git gud” explanations.
mate - higher ilvl and gear means u need less GCD to kill egg/add and that you can idk run faster because u have more speed tertiary, for example.
sure u can do it even on 610 but the longer the fight lasts the small “RNG” can ruin your attempt so the ultimate answer is get max gear and have it easier. there is no point struggling for every second of the fight on lower ilvl.

Y’all somehow take pride in defeating this in as low level as possible? OK, all the power to you but it makes no sense.

Actually just did this earlier.
The main problem is the stupid camera. I don’t know who the sadistic designer is that makes these rooms and adds a chandelier in the middle just to make the camera jerk uncontrollably and make it impossible to see the nameplate cast bar.

The fight itself would be way less bothersome if not for that.
Brann does decide not to dps the add sometimes, which is annoying.

The fight is not for 621ilvl though. Pretty sure tier 11 delves were already recommending above 630.

521 is like idk… Dragonflight ilvl, brah.

I agree with the camera tho.

There, all fixed

Well clearly more gear makes things easier, but that doesn’t mean the answer to every challenge you come up against is over gear it.

You can absolutely take the stance of wait until you have the most ilvl you’re likely to acquire and then start trying, that’s fine. But that’s not what you said in the comment I replied to, where you seemed to imply it was some sort of requirement or expectation.

tbh I even waited with getting gear from crafts and raid before I even tried M+ this season. OR got all WpVP gear before doing arena. Ultimately gear makes everything easier. And people somehow try to deny this fact.

There is no reason to rush zekvir now. u have several weeks, stack ur ring get some mythos crests and get at least 7-8 ilvl and try again.

It does, but there’s still going to be a limit to what gear can do for you, as well as a limit to what ilvl you can realistically acquire doing what you do in game. At which point you do have to assess what you can do better if you want to achieve a goal you’ve set.

We still don’t know what the spec the OP was playing, which is a shame because it means ultimately nobody here has had any real ability to learn anything from the conversation.

im also lowkey sure he has zero gems, enchants and uses 0 consumables.
