Analyze the real root of the wish to play on a PvP server. If it’s for the real PvP, like the BGs, it makes no difference what realm to choose.
If it’s to get to 60 fast and go gank lvl30 players in Stranglethorn, well, bad news, because it means, that you’re a part of the “edgy kids group”.
Why is it bad? Because you’ll have to endure queues to be able to play and gank, which are usually meaningless activities (sitting in queues and ganking) that is.
Why is it meaningless? Well, you’re not playing the game, if you’re in queue and ganking is just a waste of time for you, because you achieve exactly nothing, when ganking another low-lvl player. You don’t get your glad title, your farm no honor points, etc.
Yeah, we were actually marveling at it. If you split up the level range until it’s smaller than 50, then add them together, you can see the population. For about 20 minutes when I went back to train, I was literally the only person in '/who orgrimmar".
You achieve making other people have a bad day. It is a great “MMORPG” for people who hate people. Not everything has to be rewarded with a currency or character progression in a video game… Duh.
There are way more elaborate explanations and takes on World PvP by me in other threads. Don’t feel like repeating myself again, but basicly, you choose to believe that. The reality is, people on PvP realms are ready to have a bad day and make you a ghost in return. People like me roll on PvE realms.
Yes, if you choose to roll on PvP, you have the evil intent to make someone’s day bad. Therefore you should be punished at any stage of your leveling and suffer the consequences of your choice, maybe this will even shut you down completely before you reach the level to gank anyone! By killing newborn edgelords, you are doing a service to your faction’s nooblords in the open world. So go red is dead all the time!.. ok, only if you are a stealth class.
That GM has no idea what he’s talking about. Server transfer was available back in the vanilla and blizzard said themself that it’s on the table for a future…
The GM was wrong then. Blizzard used free Realm transfers in Vanilla to move players from overpopulated Realms. My guild used it to avoid the 800+ player queue on Warsong and moved to Neptulon.
Some people just have this “Kill on sight” mentality, like they would have in a survival game. It doesn’t matter, if it’s a waste of their own time in the first place.
Outgrowing childish world PvP results in playing BG’s, Arenas, etc while rolling on a PvE server. At least BG’s and Arenas make sense, because you opt to PvP with people, who are also opting to PvP.
Also, “people are okay with having a bad day” is a generalization seeing the amount of QQ whispers that I received from the other faction when the PvP realm limitation was lifted, or when playing on vanilla naughty servers.
Yeah, because chances are, that the naughty servers had no PvE realms to roll on, to choose. Is not representative of Classic servers, I reckon. Plus, yeah, on average people are ill informed, so they opt for pvp, which is a mistake (i.e. they don’t know that you can play BG’s and Arena on a PvE server). Or straight up delusional silly kids, who think, that they can roll on PvP and won’t have a bad time, but only deliver bad time to those, who are underleved and outgeared by them. So ofc they’ll throw tantrums when they’re killed.
I mean, I won’t judge people, who choose to roleplay this way, at the end of the day - to each their own. I just prefer BG’s, Arenas, etc.
I got ganked loads, usually guildies would come and help kill the horde, which usually resulted in them getting more of their friends etc… it sometimes ended up being some epic world PvP.
