It has just been discovered on r/wow that anyone who still has a character that kept the quest but never finished it, can still get mage tower appearances right now! That means those appearances are not prestige content strictly reserved for those who finished it back when Legion was current content. You just had to keep the quest.
And there goes the argument Blizzard made for not including Mage Tower in Legion Remix. Sadly it does not look like the quests can be shared.
You’re right, but you don’t want to open this can of worms. Most of wow community has the maturity of a toddler about this specific argument and will wear your brain and nerves out. Trust me, it’s not worth it.
They never should have removed any mogs from being obtainable in the first place. It’s ridiculous to gate people from getting mogs. There are people playing today that weren’t even born back when the game launched.
It may be an oversight on Blizzard’s part and they’ll correct it now that it’s being advertised…and take any rewarded appearances back off those who have exploited this loophole.
But this isn’t the first time that this sort of thing has happened. Blizzard doesn’t always remove these sorts of quest lines, and players do go on to complete them at a later date and get whatever reward was removed.
In the case of MT appearances, they were advertised (heavily, I might add) that you needed to buy Legion expansion to get them before they were gone forever. You couldn’t buy BFA and get Legion included back then, right up until the last moment you needed to buy Legion full price. If I bought Legion because of that advert (which I didn’t), I would be pretty upset if they brought them back, and be expecting a full refund.
This player obviously bought Legion and kept the questline on an alt. Good for them.
If they would include Mage Tower, it will be just as same as it currently on Retail.
Remix and Retail is one game client.
To be fair, current Retail mage tower is quite hard and you can’t just faceroll through it as it was during Legion and even if they would add this current state of Mage Tower in Lemix, it will be impossible to do so without cheesing your way as its currently in Retail.
With or without Mage Tower appearances, we would have post like “Its impossible to do!”
Mage Tower encounters are tuned around build/skills/design of classes as they was during Legion expansion. Prime example: Frost Mage challenge, where you’re require to have controllable water elemental, which is not current design of Frost Mage.
What i would suggest is just simply firstly tune current state of Mage Tower for current class design, which is quite way harder than just change loot table for Remix.
Current Mage Tower is complete joke, Twins take less than minute, Sigryn less than two for example. The only exception is healer challenge but it’s doable even if you don’t know how to play healer properly.
Even TWW S3 tier sets work there now.
Well, i have a problems with that as my lvl70, i do heard that lvl80 characters is having a quite cake runs, but i will test it myself at the end of TWW.
I don’t understand this timegating either.
I’ve seen posts like “This is made to prevent players from completing all the content in one week! And to prevent particularly engaged players from one-shotting everything!” - But let’s be real, grind players will have +100k main stats until next phase release and they will one-shot everything one way or another.
id be fine with them bringing rage tower skins back but only if they added solo ways to obtain all MoP challenge mode things as well as all PvP gladiator cosmetics and mounts.
Oooooh - I wasn’t aware Blizzard had actually made an excuse for this. Geez, it’s the whole frog debacle all over again. Ppl want to grind for 24 hours straight and be done with it, let them.
Yeah how dare people to not be born sooner or not have enough skill/mental capacity in their early years of life to get the MT skins? Or perhaps not discovering WoW earlier?
What a bunch of unpresentable people, they don’t deserve anything in life.
