This might be a long writing and I wanna say “sorry” upfront for any misspelling since english isn’t my native tounge.
I have been playing WoW since late vanilla and have had my share of pauses in between. All the expansions have had good ideas even if they weren’t implemented well. One of the most fond ideas that was implemented have been, in my opinion was the ability to be able to transmog your equipment to make your character stand out, as well as the ability to solo older harder dungeons/raids to complete whatever set you were going for.
In recent times I thought to myself “why did “X” raid got removed?” or “why did they even remove “X” mount from the game?”
To clarify, I’m thinking for old-school Naxx and old-school ZG/ZA just for an example.
For anyone who doesen’t know the history, there were older versions (OG) of Naxxramas, Zul Aman and Zul Gurub, with unique introquests and faction awards.
We now know that some of the older items has returned as cosmetics, which is great, but it’s still lacking all the items that was available. And I’m not talking about available recolours thats available from Thunder Isle (as an example).
I can totally understand that there are items which should be unobtainable (for whatever reason), but why is that mostly restricted for items that was from Vanilla/TBC?
What I mean is, since the start we’ve had awesome raids, dungeons and mounts that people can solo in order to complete their collection for transmog, mounts and achivements purposes. Then why haven’t all the newer raids with items and mounts been removed? They have been unique to their respective raid-tier, so why are newer raids untouched and even scaled to make them easily soloable?
A soloution to this “problem” could be to make older raids with their loottable return, accessible through a NPC, and get teleported to the correct instance if it’s not possible to return them through a separate entrance in the world of Azeroth. And for all “superunique” items, i.e Corrupted Ashbringer, make respective achivement. An example could be for an old-school player to get a Feat of Strength “Collector of the original “X”-item/mount”.
If every old-school item could return and make the original owners get an achivement for those kind of items, wouldn’t that make the game more fun to play?
I myself have items which aren’t available anymore, and don’t see any reason for them not to return to everyone who missed it out.
