I mean killing queen ansurek with story mode and nothing apart few valor stones from 1 quest… and crest and kej ? no rep even ? at least blizz u could get it to 1 raid boss kill or some rep / 1 item lets say 5 ilvls more then u have but below lfr ilvl

The reward for story mode is being able to see the end of the story inside the game, which is better than looking at it on youtube, which was the solution for people unwilling or unable to raid previously.
It’s nice addition but don’t expect LFR loot from it.

I haven’t tried the story mode option but it is a great addition for those who just want a super chilled conclusion to the campaign they just completed.
When I first started WoW there was no LFR and I couldn’t get into a raid, so missed that entire part of the game. I started at the launch of TBC, so missed BT. I would have loved this back then.
In saying that I’m not sure how I feel about it rewarding loot. At first I was like absolutely not but thinking about, what’s the harm? Even if they reward gear that isn’t tier but will help you complete it faster in the future. If you really wanted gear as a solo player then you have Delves, so why not this?
Even doing a quest will give you rewards, so doing all that raid solo seems like a lot to do for just a story.
What it can’t be is a way for experienced people to farm each week for easy gear or rewards, that will be the balance.

Ah well, from the quest, didn’t realize OP was actually talking about the story mode kill itself… so absurd I didn’t even get the idea. I mean, that would get as close to “hand me loot for doing nothing” as it currently gets in game.
story mode is story mode and not for gear… but… it would be nice to get a lil toy or gimmick for “yo, you completed the story”.
Seems fair to me that story mode is for the story and not for gearing up.
The story IS the reward…
