To re-enable sounds after the computer sleeps, I have to press: / options / audio / system default / system default / /
Maybe there is another option somewhere I have missed?

What option does it show before seleting System Default?
“No Sound Driver” - when just out of sleep
OR
NVidia High def audio - when in normal operation
If you are on Win10:
Right click Windows Start, select Device Manager
Go to Sound, Video and Game Controllers (or something like that)
You should be able to identify your default device for sound on the list there
Right-click and select Properties, then go to the Drivers tab.
If the Supplier/Vendor of the driver is Microsoft, chances are you need to install the drivers for your device from the correct supplier. If it says the name of the vendor, then it’s possibly not a driver issue.
Then also check:
Right click Windows Start, select System
Go to Sound. On the right side of the window or at the bottom, there should say “Sound control panel”. Click it.
On the window that opens the first tab should be named Play.
Check if your device is on the list there. If it’s not, then it’s most likely a driver issue.
If the device is there and has a red arrow pointing downwards, then it’s deactivated for whatever reason. Right-click it and select Enable.
For Win11 the above options may be hidden at a different place.
I don’t guarantee the above will solve your issue, but it is a first step.
Thanks. Sounds on the computer work fine after sleep. It’s just WoW that has the problem.
