No, we don't want RDF! We really don't want that 🤯

Everyone wants RDF back.

This bullsh*t about nurturing and protecting our social interactions is just their way to justify their own stupid ideas and visions.

RDF came with ICC patch, and when it came no one said anything bad about it.

Your text makes me to think that you work for the Blizzard, because no one normal person won’t think like you.

Have you actually read this thread, or any of the other RDF-threads, before posting this?
There are obviously a few people that don’t want it. Strange I know, but still

It’s ok to make mistakes as long as you learn from them. It didn’t take long for people to genuinely hate RDF and what it did to the game. Especially in early Cata when they made dungeons harder.

What you can do today is to visit the World of Warcraft sub-reddit and search for the word “kicked” and you can see what state RDF is in:

Being a nit-picker: can RDF be in any state, I thougth it did not exist.

I never actually hated RDF (only the ‘bribe and buff’ for going with strangers), but I thoroughly hated a lot of the other changes of late Wrath, and we’re going to get all of those.
RDF did not do it alone, just you wait and see.

What is the current state of RFD in retail;

People use it on lvling, for looking for raids and heroics mostly.

What is the most used thing is in tool?

Finding m+, raids and so on.

So basically at the moment people not using RFD that much anymore because they can’t use it get better gear in progress.

So what would change for wotlk?

A big nothing. You will use the RDF for leveling if you want to and farm hcs till get some gear and when starting raiding you will only use it once a day for getting valors. That’s it. There are no social interaction that we are losing cause we won’t do hcs till end of the wotlk all day everyday. It’s just important for the beginning and when ToC and ICC’s new dungeon comes and they are not taking that much either to get your drops.

What RFD changes on regular doing HCs?

%15 buff which can be nerfable, farming badges all day if you using random not specific which personal id system can be implemented to players even if they do UK and just killed first boss then left they can go enter that dungeon again but they won’t have any loot from that boss which is already implemented in wow ( yeah people might find a way to abuse it like 4 people done 2 bosses only one guy did not do any bosses and he gets all the loot but it’s same with premade groups nothing changes) and that’s it.

All the people saying that their anti rdf are simply hypocrites that hate finding 5 man dungeon hc if their friends not online, hate go and summon other players to dungeon, hates spamming hcs all day long, hates trying to find a tank via whispering every 70 warrior/pala/druid and still can’t get one that willing to tank for themselves but still they talking about non sense social interaction.

Heroic dungeons are not socially connects people because it’s trival and just had to be done to get gear and beat naxx easier but people gonna be people and I will as a tank make those little anti rdf supporters to fly to stupid dungeon and summon me while I lap on Dalaran.

Question

Do you need RDF if you are running dungeons with players on your friends list and members in your guild community?

Yes and no. Still doable w/o RDF but I don’t want people to waste their time to fly all across to Northrend and going to tanaris and waste their time. If there is a chance to have driver that drives your car you can have it or not that will be my choice and I would like to have a driver that drives me around while I won’t waste my on going A to B. But for CoS I really need to use RDF.

But if you wanna ask on leveling part I need it you need it everybody needs RDF for better and more fun lvling experience.

How can you say we need RDF for a better leveling experience? I can totally agree that it’s more convenient and faster, but better? Isn’t this an mmorog called World of Warcraft…

World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King. Not classic wow thay you go do MC or go do SSC outland, main attention is Northrend and where most majority of players will be playin on Northerend so no it’s not called World of Warcraft

Tanenous, Blizzard employee shares his wisdom here.

Yes I did, and I have my own posts here too.

Is there something what you don’t understand from my text, or did I hurt your feelings somehow?

Nah I’m quite good thanks, and I understood what you said. Just find it strange how anyone can say “everybody wants RDF” when clearly there is a small bunch that don’t want it.

RDF is both good and bad, for levelling I agree that it’s such a nice QoL but for max level stuff it’s whatever really.

Damn the minority can be loud, no matter the subject  Stick to your guns Blizzard and pls don’t add RFD. For all the entitled crybabies: see ya @ launch bois

I would absolutely like to see RDF being implemented for Wrath.
Doesn’t have to be at launch since I’d think that would be very difficult with the current time-frame but at any phase later I would like to see it.

For 1-70 it will help a lot with leveling because it can be difficult to find groups.

For 70-80 I’d still like the convenience of it. The RDF experience for me (ignoring the increase of toxic players, which I personally think is the real issue) has been very much the same from when it first was added til today on retail.

And when Classic happened, the only thing that changed was how I form groups or join other’s groups. It didn’t change anything regarding the social experience I was having. Nobody (well, there are exceptions, of course) really talks even in TBCC except for lighthearted jokes and stuff, in particular when any number of dps dies from pulling aggro. This last bit is what goes away since Wrath dungeons are significantly easier overall. For me, this is the part of the social experience that’s going away.

If TBCC had RDF, that bit would still exist. Would just be a different method of forming the group. My 2 cents.

For 80 heroics, I’ve read plenty of comments why it would be bad, but nothing has stuck to me as truly being a good reason for its removal. For example, the most recent one I came across was the concern about progression due to being able to run “unlimited” heroics each day/week to earn rewards.

My solution to that would be to remove the ‘R’ in RDF. Keep the general system of the RDF the way it always has been, but remove the “Random” bit and only allow players to use the “Specific” listings, as when you complete a heroic dungeon, that will be locked for queueing when choosing specific dungeons (but it was still available in random).

I just feel like this version; the “SDF” (“Specific Dungeon Finder”), would be a good solution to the problem (and maybe keep it local server only? Not cross-realm). I still get my convenience (where I am not allowed to cherrypick my team, I have to accept what I get) while the current method of grabbing people in LFG chat still exists.
For everyone that vouches for “No RDF”; you can still make your team outside of the finder, and then use it to get to your specific dungeon.

And if you still say “No” then why is this so bad?

Tell me about it. You lot sure are loud indeed.

No you wont.

I am playing mostly on PTR now…all the discussions on chats and party chats is that ppl hate the current lfg tool and would like to have RDF in wotlk.

Previously I thought one shouldn’t take forum posts and likes as decisive indicator of the sentiments (check official blizz post, its 99 likes vs 353 likes on counter post), but ppl ingame actually want the RDF.

Even on mirage /4 channel the sentiment is the same.

Its this noisy, because MAJORITY wants RDF.

Blizzard is stubborn, look at what they did with the “pull the ripcord” at start of the Shadowlands expansion. In the end they added all the changes in last patches, but expansion would be a lot better if they implemented WHAT THEIR GAMERS / CUSTOMERS ASKED THEM TO at the start of expac. But their ego wont allow them to do that “they know better” thats why WoW dowhnills so much.

People generally don’t spam chat and the forums when they are happy with the status quo.

But when u actually ask question on chat, even if they don’t mind status quo, the sentiment towards RDF is clear
