#nochanges for cataclysm - important

I’ve never spent much time on the forums really but I’ve played this game since 2005 and I feel I have to make this thread and hopefully Blizzard will read and understand all these points I’m about to give.

Problem 1: Destruction of Classic Zones
Cataclysm revamped many classic zones, altering their landscapes and questlines.

Solution a: Make it so you can talk to Chromie and go back in time?
Solution b: I think if other changes are done to Cataclysm, this problem we can live with.

Problem 2: Simplified Talent Trees

Cataclysm introduced a new talent system that simplified talent trees and removed some of the customization options present in Wrath of the Lich King.
This led to less diverse character builds and reduced complexity in gameplay.

Solution a: Me and behalf of the WoW community, WE WANT THE OLD TALENT TREE.
In a perfect world we should get a revamped talent tree of the WOTLK tree and just add some new stuff in there along with new abilites such as Heroic leap next to piercing howl for example.

Solution b: We dont want reduced complexity in our gameplay, certain abilities should just not be added into the game. Leap of faith, Time warp, Mind Spike, Wild Mushroom, Healing Rain, Inner Rage, removing MS 50% to 20%, its so many changes WE DONT WANT BLIZZARD. You have to do a overhaul on this and not break how classes are played, shadow priest for example gets these ‘‘shadow orbs’’ and it’s here everything start getting messy, me included will absolutly quit the game if the release is the same as Cataclym were original.

Problem 3: Dungeon Difficulty Changes + LFG TOOL
Cata heroics on release crushed the will of thousands of super-casual players. The ghost of over-tuning haunts the dungeons still.

Solution: Don’t over-tune.

Problem 4: Dungeon Looking For Group TOOL.
At the moment we do not have LFG tool, but we need it for lower levels.

Solution: I still do not wish to get a LFG tool in max level. But when you are leveling it must be added, it is quite hard to lvl at the moment. It is hard to find people and form groups for dungeons in lower level. In max level we dont want it and we dont need it, the LFG tool we have to browse groups etc is working good in max level.

Problem 5: Flying Restrictions
Cataclysm introduced new restrictions on flying mounts, preventing players from using them in the newly revamped zones until reaching certain achievements.

Solution: Make players fly in level 78 in the new Azeroth.

Problem 6: Raid sizes and loot changes.
We announced that Cataclysm raids were being redesigned to make both raid sizes the same difficulty, drop the same quality of loot, and exist in the same lockout.

Solution: The ONLY change we want is the ability to have FLEX RAID with like 17-25 man it should act like FLEX in 25 man. BUT u still have 2 different lock outs on 10/25 man, this change makes it EASIER to do raids even if people leave etc.
& loot should ofc be different in 10/25 man.

PROBLEM 7: LFG-RAID TOOL.

Solution: I think you have heard enough backlash about this tool. Do not add it. ever.

I think I’ve covered most of the major things that really needs to be adressed with the release of cataclysm. Please listen to this feedback and fix all these problems.
I’ve loved and played this game for so long but if these problems are not fixed or mostly of them I will probably quit playing WoW for good and wait for LoL MMO to release.

Sorry for being abit toxic but I care for this game and yea.
Thanks all, cya in Azeroth

Well considering RDF will be in, it wont really matter if the zones have changed and well… just look at the topics whining for JJ, the change of scenery is a good way to shut those people up, it isn’t the same as before so they can stop crying.

Correct. The simplified talents made characters feel very… generic… Not sure how much it matters now since most people can only play with a guide and they would all have the exact same spec anyway.

Incorrect. Leap of Faith is too much fun to not be added, I don’t know about the other ones and don’t care. Just keep Leap of Faith.

Thats highly likely to happen.

Terrible ideas hopefully you’re not the game design.
Stay on Wotlk ERA, don’t play Cataclysm, you don’t like it apperently.

Wotlk was enough destroyed by Classic ERA players.

I do not understand why you say this

Wrath was destroyed, yes. But by people wanting CHANGES. Not by us poor Era NoChangers. We never wanted boosts, ugly mounts QoL “improvements” noone asked for, Token and so on. All we asked for was Wratrh as Wrath was back then.

Btw I agree that Defying’s ideas are terrible. I do not like any of them - except for maybe Keep old talent trees - I hate spells talent-locked. But then I can just not care, I am not going play Cata. Ever!
If I decide, Cata will never come, but we have Wrath as was for Era server.

Classic ERA players =/= Wotlk players

Not true. I play both. But Wrath in now-ruined state not so very fun. I had looked forward to it. But Blizz on behalf of stremers and whiners ruined it.

Maybe you tell me what is difference between Era player and Wratt player then?

Classic ERA player is the one who think he do but he don’t, he’s the one who came on Classic 2019, saying “Classic is the best version ever i want it forever, please Blizzard don’t release others expansion, we don’t want any change we want the original game”, and then came to Wotlk to change the game for their own purpose.
Classic ERA player is also a consumer, who quit the game once finished.

The pro Wotlk player, him, play this same version of the game over 10 years, meaning it’s a real fan of this game and not a consumer who ask for change and then quit the game.

Hmmm, wonder where I go, then. I love Classic - all three expacs - as it was. I hate the changes people made Blizz implement. But I never play Psever, so I wait for this game many years, only to see it ruined.

You are a normal player who just want to play the game as it was.
You are in the good guys part.

Just leave the game as is and fine-tune classes/bugs like they have been doing with ret/blood/feral/fury.

Screaming about changes got us in this mess.

The game is entirely there, use our sub money to pay for fixes, not changes.

Negative consequences aside, I’ve been really enjoying smashing HC++, love to see updates like that instead of asinine overhauls.

I don’t think they are the kind of people that would ever stop.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the simplified talents you mention, is it the 3-talent per row? Because that was implemented in MoP, not cata. Cata still had the nice longer trees, similar to previous expansions

what… what is the appeal of “classic” cataclysm?

like, the classic era ends with the lich king, really.

Leveling zones are dead for 99% of the expansion timeline.

Citation needed.

And why reinvent the wheel, rebalance the talents, gear, and raid bosses instead of going how it was?

Who is “we”?

Then maybe quit WoTLK before it’s added? The game won’t cater to you. You either accept Cata or you don’t. Nobody cares if you are unhappy or you won’t play.

It’s not up to you to decide. Or are you afraid your raid/dungeon GDKP and Gold selling business gets crippled?

HUGE Cataclysm Classic Info - Scaling raids, Mythic plus, talent rework and more!!!

Scotteye just released this video… ^^

As for the scaled-to-level old raids, it also can be like Timewalking on retail where the ilvl is not that competitive so at best catchup (and limiting GDKP/Boosts maybe due to a wide set of instances).

For the talent trees if they keep the old ones then it will be a completely different Cata, more like “WoTLK-based expansion”. If they use Cata ones but remove the cross-spec limit then it can go crazy as each spec usually has some bigger elements early and along the tree. Unsure if it’s that essential to mess up with this.

Like healers in Cata were intended to care for mana much more and use big spells only when needed and as needed. If they use WoTLK style classes then mana will be easier to manage, if they use Cata but without limits then Priest could have way more efficient Disc+Holy talents builds.

If they used Cata trees then they’d need a total rework. Remember that some key abilities were obtained automatically at level 10 when you picked your spec.

Weird that nobody that reacted to this yet, since it’s completely false lmao
Cataclysm essentially did exactly what you stated. You could buy a flight master license at level 60 which allowed you to fly in Kalimdor and EK. You didn’t need an achievment at all
