Noob resto druid talent questions

Hey,

I’m not long back from a long break and have pick resto as my main spec. Have done a number of HC raids with guild but still unsure of best talent to pick in last tier and how exactly some of them work and best time to use. Wondering if I give you my thought on how id use them and you guys can correct me/guide me right.

I am 465 ilvl and have went for mostly haste and haste corruptions. Trying now to get abit more mastery.

Germination - I wont use this in raid at all

Flourish - I normally pop my innervate and go mad putting out as many HoTs as I can during then push flourish. Usually try to time it when I know big raid damage is coming. Is this correct or better time to use? I try to use this inbetween 3min Tranq and 3min Tree so I always have a big spell for whenever needed.

Photosynthesis - I feel that its best used when its always on myself and HoTs are 20% faster + already stacking haste. Would It be best to make a macro to self cast this on me and keep it on me as much as possible? Im really not sure on best use of this.

Thanks for any advice on this and please be nice. As I say long break just back re-learning

You’re not wrong at all, you got the general understanding of how those two talents work.
It’s also mostly obvious when yo use either talent in a raid setting.
Constant low-mid pulsing dmg? Go Photosynthesis
Time between low and high uptime healing with mid-high dmg pulses? Flourish.
As to how to use them when the need comes, from what I can see there would only be tiny ways to improve from what you wrote.

As for when to put Lifeblood on yourself or others is entirely dependent on what the raids health looks like, and if another healer is using a cd, and if another target (tank) needs a lot of healing. In which case weigh your options and choose which has the highest prio.
It comes down to getting used to. Though generally in raids you almost always have bloom on yourself if raid needs healing.

You just dont use photo in a raid setting, like ever. Since its only real benefit if you put it on yourself, you need constant aoe damage and you have to take enough damage so that lifebloom is not wasted AND make it outheal flourish. This did not happen on like any bosses this entire expansion. There were some cases for it on orgozoa mythic if i remember correctly but the right play was still flourish for the burst healing to save people on progression.

To OP: flourish for raid, photo for keys, germination for arenas. Thats basically it.
Photo- lifebloom on tank mostly, put on you for big aoe.
Flourish use is quite easy. Rejuv spam and a wild growth before flourish. You can pair it with innervate or tree or use it on its own. Depends on bosses and damage patterns. With expedient stacking flourish can stand on its own as a very potent cooldown on its own right as you can have rejuv up on basically a whole raid(20men) and then have a window of basically free regrowths with very high abundance stacks as at that point you run out of useful rejuv targets for a while.

I’m sure Flourish is way better than Photo in high tier raiding, but in Nm.Hc raids photo does just fine.

i personally use photosynthesis in nzoth fight, i keep it on my tank and keep him hotted, when there is large aoe incoming, i put photo on my self and cast tranq and regrowth for the extra ticks.

There is no point using photo on nzoth where most damage comes in bursts. Photo is only good for constant ticking damage and i even have doubts you would use it there.

Anything does just fine in most content. You could run with no talents too and still do your weekly m+ or do heroic raid. It just wont be your best option.
