Noob way to rival (heal solo)

Advice to noobs like me.
As a noob this is what i learned:

  • Calm down. This is the most important advice. I met a great many glads and duelists at 1.5, doing their jobs and humiliating pugs like me with their alts. Many times I afk and stopped trying. Big mistake. I thought there was no point. However even a 1/ 6 win matters.
  • i play resto shaman and holy priest mostly. This is another mistake, but my advice here is play what you like the most. I hate druids and evoker playing. And disc is not my thing.
  • Try not to answer any insult in the chat. If you do, you will get banned as I have been. Avoid any interaction with other players, even if they say you heal good. Otherwise, you may end with your nerves demolished, while as I said in 1, we need to be calm to confront all this flood of elite glads with low rating alts.
  • As a resto shaman, I play totemic, I only choose farseer if there are 3 hunters in the lobbies.

So this is all I learned. And since it is my first rival I feel like I wanted to share my joy with all of you
Thank you.

The combined effort in to seemless keybindings is probably something very underlooked.
Knowledge of mechanics is just as important.
Your UI has to be properly set up so you can track DRs, Team CDs of both sides are a must.
If you want you can play with Weakauras.
And last but not least, practical Macros.
Thats how i coached my new friend to play.
And we took it step by step.
1st we made like 20% of the keybinds, and I just installed a DR tracker on his UI.
I send him to play BGs for 10 days
then we put 50% more keybinds.
I put some macros in.
I send him to play BGs for 10 days.
I put a few more keybinds in and i made him more macros.
I send him to play BGs for 10 days
Last week he started arenas.
I installed him just SArena and Focus macros.
He struggles a lot.
Currently he is at 1.6.
Boy does he struggle.
But from a fresh 80 to 1.6 is a huge step for him.
Also he will develop proper habbits from the start, i was doing 1 step forward 2 steps back when i was still learning.
I think ill push him to 1.8 next time to get the transmogs and ill bring him back to battlegrounds, and instal the rest of the stuff and just let him practice in peace until hes ready to step into arenas again.
But yeah, its good if you get someone to guide you if you struggle.

play blitz,
go mid fight, heal
otherwise follow flag and heal FC

gg easy 1800

but no troll i played holy priest in blitz. and i just spammed prayer of mending and instant heals, and it was super chill
your heals bounce around and mending heals for 1mil a jump

occasionally use leap of faith to score a fast Flag cap

Could you please elaborate about transmog please? Is it some kind of reward I can get?

its the class set transmog you get at 1.8 automatically.

Bit of a hit and miss, and an odd one, I’ve been talkative through all DFs Seasons in solo shuffle, agreeing on the plans/tactics amongst other bits & bobs and never once got a report or suspension.

I got DCed while carrying the flag because of the anticheat system which tracks movement. It happens that i used rescue at the same time some monk placed a ring of peace in my path. My character DCed and dropped the flag. I got spam reported from my team for wintrading (nothing happened though, luckily).

Thats the wow community for you.

I never write anything in the chat in shuffle.

Yeah, not a good thing to deal with, blizzard needs to work a bit more with these glitches.

Just disable the chat and treat the players like bots, solo shuffle became chill and kinda fun, even as healer.

haha i did the same in ranked in league - worked out pretty well

what could also help is recording your gameplay and analyze it afterwards - you will be shocked how many mistakes you make.

another hot take - use ur cds early when dps uses their cds i have seen a lot of people dying without any def cds being used especially in the 1.8k rating range
