Well guess you are right with some things here.
It takes a lot of time searching group, get to dungeons and getting started and ppl leveling are rly never interested in chatting or whatever.
Maybe it could be an improvement that doesnt do much harm.
How is it any different not a “dungeon finder its a group finder” you list you name or your group if you didn’t use it back in the day it’s your fault it was very similar to retail group finder now i used it all the time. You list your group and spam lfg as-well but its a bonus place where its way cleaner then the chat to find a group for what you want. It doesn’t teleport you to dungeon but neither does group finder in retail you fly to the fkin mythic dungeon
There are addons now that clear or summarize groups in lfg channel now so they might as-well put it ingame
what does it being 2021 have to do with this? was it fine in original tbc because back then the days had 48h in them?
i’ve never waited more than 5-10 minutes to get a group together for anything
and it only matches you with players from your realm and the normal dungeon atm is pretty dead taking hrs to form grps so yeah its total useless. you do realise this will benefit the game in the long run this issue with forming grps will only get worse its already affected classic dungeons heavily trying for forming grps other nyt i spent all day trying to make a grp for stockage and didnt even get a grp together so yes dungeon finder is 100% needed.
Edit: its an MMO and having more players to play with is a bad idea?
Logging in today for the limited 2 hours I have on a weekday, spent 30-45mins reading the spam that is LFG, spammed the LFG channel myself a bit, done some AH stuff in the in between time, got bored and logged off.
The only other option was to farm and i’ve done plenty of that over the past few days to again pass the time.
This is especially a problem for anyone doing Normal dungeons as due to the race to the end nature of gaming now, most groups are only looking for Heroics or Raids.
They have already implemented major changes which were not in TBC, so adding a tool that technically was in TBC and that really has no other impact apart from to help those who need groups, doesn’t seem very harmful.
Yes I am. And yes, LFD makes the game worse as the interaction with players is non existent. And I do stand by it. We dont want you retail fools in TBC. The tool as it was originally introduced in TBC is all we would need.
So stop crying like a god damn baby and dont hide behind the time sink argument. Cultivating a friend list and making connections is an integral part of Classic/Classic TBC.
Before i forget it: Go back to retail. Please and thank you.
I group with people I know. Sometimes I try it with randoms, when meeting a 400 dps rogue I quickly realize why I loved TBC so much. You can never group with them again, a ‘lfg tool’ would force you to.
and you forget its not 2007 anymore and not everyone can play wow like a damn 2nd job but congratz to you for being able to play wow like there is no tmr…
It is funny that people automatically assume that one plays the game the whole day if they oppose their narrow minded “MIMIMI - give me all things quick and for free” mind set.
Guess what? If you dont have the time anymore - too fkn bad. I could play the game 10 hours + back in the day but now i cant. Do i go cry about the forums about some LFD? No. I go into the game and ask around for ppl, even if i have to do …/
But, since i´m a tank i dont really have to deal with any of that. Just sucks to be you i guess, now get that stick out of your buttocks.
I think the OP is partly right here.
A LFD for normal dungeons, excluding the few lvl70 dungeons, would be a huge improvement for leveling alts. And in my opinion wouldnt do any harm.
But Im totally against a version with HC and the 70 dungeons!
I think a lot of people are wearing nostalgia goggles and don’t want to admit that game mechanics which exist only to waste your time aren’t nearly as good as you remember them.
Add dungeon finder with the teleport, with the caveat that you must do the dungeon once the “normal” way before you are eligible for it. To do that, though, we need the ability to see itemlevel so groups don’t end up with dead weight.
As retail has been further developed I really do believe it is way to easy getting comfortable with X-time investment Y-Rewards & if you put hrs in to forming a group… then i dont know what your doing?
A Tool that was in it when it was current retail, sure.
A Dung tool that ports you and forms the group automatically? No.
TBC is more time demanding then later expansions, but the fact that many people have more important things in life to do then putting hrs into Classic-TBC doesnt mean it should be modernized to fit those needs, even do the risk is high since majority of the people today want to put in as little effort as they can for maximum reward and Blizz/Activision just want to make more money.
My point is that the expansion is and was forcing people to communicate and be interactive and find guilds to progress etc & yes, majority of the old school players cant put same mount of time into the game since pretty much everyone is an “adult” now days? however…
Implementing the Dung tool would realy just make the game more stationary, less interactive and boring.
A Scenario where you just log in - Queue up in dungeon finder - logs off is garbage.
Asking for this change due to less time investment is almost as saying:
“Jeez, i wish i didnt have to work 8hrs/day, i dont get as much time with the family i wish i could - Hey Employer, could i work 3d instead of 5d?”
Simple… stop asking for changes for you not being able to put in the time you wish you could just because you have more important stuff to do.
