Not critting at all, help?

Okay, so recently when I’ve been playing my Holy Priest, baring in mind it has the standard 5% crit, and no crit on any of its items, but hear me out…

So before when I used to hover over ‘Critical Strike’ whilst targeting someone, it would say something along the lines of “Critical Strike: 0 [+17.89% verses current target]”.
But now it says “Critical Strike: 0 [+0.00% verses current target]”.

I use the Details addon and when I finish an arena match (which I’ve been struggling to heal recently, because of this I’m guessing), I check my healing done, and there have been zero crits for me the entire fight.

This isn’t just a one off, its been happening every game. I just never crit. This only seems to be happening on my priest.

So I guess my question is, has anyone else experienced any issues like this? Has there been an update at some point that has changed the way critical strike works? Anyone know a fix other than, equip crit gear?

It could be an addon bug rather than an in game bug. So the details addon showing “0% versus current target” could be an addon bug.

I know for a fact that details addon has bugs. For example on my protection warrior it shows zero parries/dodges/blocks for the entire dungeon even though I get a lot of revenge! procs which only occur after a successful dodge or parry. Even though I use shield block ability which increases block chance by 100%.

To make sure it’s an in game bug and not an addon bug and , check combat log.

I think it could be an addon bug as well. I could quite easily write an addon that hijacks all in-game displays and remove any mentions of crits. The only thing I can’t get at is the built in damage text, but if you use nameplateSCT or something I can go after that, too. I can even do it in less than 100 lines of code.

I also can’t hit the combat log itself, so you can check there - but I can hit anything that uses the combat log except the actual chat window.

I would suggest you try resetting your UI and deleting your addons, but I will also say that I can’t think of any reason why anybody would write an addon like this.

If it continues after deleting Cache, WTF, Interface then I would contact Blizzard. If this is true it’s going to completely cripple your character and make you fail in just about everything through no fault if your own, and that really sucks.

Have you tried checking your combat log as well? Pretty sure no addon can affect that, and also the log file.

If I remember correctly vs enemies you can lose crit based on level difference.

Really not sure if they changed any of this but I believe it still holds true.

If you are targeting a mob that is significantly higher level your crit might be that miniscule that it shows as 0.00%.

Vs friendly with heals you should keep you full crit %.
