Not dealing with your arrogance anymore

Hey there,

it feels wrong to leave without saying goodbye after I played that game for more than 10 years, experienced incredibly funny moments and made great friends that I’ll most likely keep for the rest of my life.

This was a really long text before where I shared my thoughts and feelings but then I realised you don’t care anyway so i’ll make it quick to read:

You recieved tons and tons of Affliciton Warlock feedback since the early Beta of BFA, what was half a year ago. The forums are full of threads, written by smart and very experienced players that made the effort to spend hours and hours of their time writing down feedback posts about Affliction to help you doing a better job. That is the reason people pay 13€ for the game, because it was always worth it. Thats not the case anymore, at least for me.

The time people spent combined giving all this feedback is insane and what did you do? The only thing we got to hear from your side was some random footnote on a patch that said “expect warlock and dk changes soon”. Warlocks didn’t get the chance to participate in a serious arena environment in BFA, playing the class how it is intended to be played, what means not being forced to run circles with a frostmage and rdruid and wait for 100 stacks to get one drainlife off and eventually score a kill.

And then we hit 8.1… and you dare to come up with Demon Armor Protects the caster, increasing maximum health by 10% and increases armor by 125%
what could have been implemented instantly via a hotfix months ago?? People asked for it hundreds of times!!

And then your developer brains ascnend to the next level and you give us Demonic Embrace Stamina increased by 10%,
what took you half a year???

Not mentioning Casting Circle 8 sec kick immunity, 1 min cd, removes kick immunity on Unending Resolve here because everyone and his grandmother instantly dispels your UA stacks anyway. /golfclap

Your “work” was probably done in less than 10 minutes and that just reflects your immense arrogance on how you treat your customers now. “We are listening” instantly became a meme. You obviously don’t listen because nothing the community wished to happen was on your list.

No baseline Demonic Circle.
No instant Shadowfury.
No Soul Swap. Another way to spend your main ressource in this f’ckfest of melees sitting in your face with tons of interrupts.

The same arrogance you approach the Diablo community with. The same arrogance that stops you from actually communicating with us. Fixing communication issues does not take a year since it was a big topic and Ion said himself that it is an issue that will be adressed.

Telling us that changes will come, telling us months later on livestream that changes will come that redirect us from Single Target to AoE multidotting in PvE and a rotting playstyle for PvP and the only thing we get is a single Azerite Trait that does some damage when reapplying dots.

I cancelled my subscription and I will not reactivate it. The reason is not that all classes got pruned way too much and the game developed backwards since MoP what made most classes boring and one-dimensional, the reason became personal when you spit on all warlock players by letting us suffer for months and then coming up with this baby-changes in 8.1, which are not more than a small hotfix and a complete embarrassment for a company of your size.

It brought me to a point where I am just unwilling to pay for someone who approaches such a loyal and passionate community with so much arrogance and desinterest.

Thats it.
Goodbye.

100% my opinion. Will cancel my sub too.

That is 100% my opinion as well and probably most of the Warlock players will agree.
I was just browsing over the 8.1 changes and Blizzard just underlined the fact that they have zero knowledge about the state certain classes are in.

I would have never imagined that Blizzard would make changes from bad to worse so straight forward.

What are you talking about, warlocks are perfectly fine, 8 out of 10 locks from my friendlist quited because of how good and enjoyable we are.Especialy in PvP.

I hate to disappoint you but not even CSAs read the EU forums anymore, so this won’t even reach a single member of Activision Blizzard’s eyes or ears. I agree wholly with the fact the game has developed backwards, nobody can deny that that is true with the amount of pruning that’s occurred since MoP. I’ll be checking the game tomorrow when the patch is live to see what changes they’ve made to the expansion underdogs but I don’t hold very high hopes. If the problem wasn’t fixed in expansion release it won’t be fixed until the next expansion, that’s how Blizzard have been for a very long time now: “We’ll fix it in 8.1. Okay, we’ll fix it in 8.2. Okay, we’ll fix it in 8.3. Oh, uh - don’t worry, it’ll be fixed next expansion.”

You’re not the only one to cancel their sub with other games out there offering a better experience, I find it hard to justify playing every day when the same easily fixed issues go day-in and day-out unresolved.

Godspeed, dude.

I stopped playing pvp with my warlock.
Any melee that can interrupt can own you, blindfolded.

If you find a way to give me the time back which I spent on writing down constructive feedback for all the classes I played in PvP, definitely.

Like this… (Affliction Warlock PvP)

or this… (Arms Warrior PvP)
https://eu.battle.net/forums/de/wow/topic/17611981909
(german forums, I switched to english ones when I noticed no one gives a f*ck about german forums and the feedback will never reach anyone)…

You guys have no idea how much I regret wasting my time for this abomination of a game, having faith in the developers and they just ignored everything the community gave them. I did a lot of research for those feedbacks, it’s not only my opinion, I contacted every famous/highrated/blizzcon player who represented the class and has tons of knowledge about the game (mostly because they all multiclass) to get the clearest insight in pros and cons of everything beside my own opinion… it took days and it was just a waste of time.

Its just a tragedy what they did to the game and how they disrespect the players wishes nowadays…

Obviously cant talk about pvp, only had Some world encounters and it didnt go well, but pve wise i gotta say: one of the funnier class/specs there is. Really liking affliction and destro

i have been avoiding pvp like the plague since the bfa prepatch. it was instantly clear to me that the warlock tool kit was too clunky/ inadequate to deal with most other classes. especially melee’s if they ambush you.

i can somewhat accept destro in PvE, but it’s a far cry from what it was in MOP.

not sure what i will do with this char now. i was kinda hoping for some interesting changes.

i play destro and after 8.1 it feels ALOT better! sure there is still things that need to be fixed ( imo) but it way better then before the patch.

I’ve unsubbed too . 8 years warlock.

Affli feels more like affli back in the day now. No more am I forced to play 3x ID and cheesing a 1 shot on someone. Now I can rot people again, live longer than 3 globals and have every fear I cast break instantly to my DoTs.

I’m pleasantly surprised by this patch so far, I must say

Nothing changed damage wise exept the 10% UA nerf. You definitely can’t rot people. It’s the same as before so this point is 100% invalid.

You survive longer and you can drain more often but its not as strong as before and the gameplay has still nothing to do with how warlock is supposed to work.

Still, every change we got with 8.1 could have been hotfixed right after release and it’s still disgusting it took them half a year for these few very small changes.

Try playing 3x sudden onset traits with writhe in agony instead of inevitible demise, I think it’s better.

You can definitely rot people with that build, and the game play is more fun than looking for a chance to drain someone. You also can get big deathbolts off because of agony doing so much damage.

Not been playing at a particularly high mmr ~2100, but vs every lock we have faced playing inevitible demise, I have done ~twice his damage with this build and won because his drain wasn’t doing enough and their healer just couldn’t keep their team alive.

But yeah they could have put these changes in sooner, better late than never though?

Our damage on the scoreboard isn’t that bad but its not effective damage. Most experienced warlocks (Snutz, Maldiva, Dakkroth,…) will tell you that rotting is not a possibility. If rotting was a thing we would play Creeping Death in every possible scenario but thats not the case because multi target healing is so much stronger than single target healing and too many classes can reset your stacks by dispelling curses every 8 sec.

Most of our dps is “fake damage” that has very little to no effect at all. If you dont believe me, visit some of the top warlocks streams and ask them. You should definitely try ID, too. You will probably get way higher than 2.1k then.

Definitely not. For so many months we were not able to play the game due to not having any defense against melees and our damage being crippled to some stupid drain stack mechanic and then they come up with the first big content patch and it includes only a few hotfixes for warlocks.

I understood that they didn’t want to change things a few days before the first BFA tournament but after that? Why would they not just hotfix Demon Armor when everyone memed about warlocks and they were obviously unplayable? The class was out of the game for almost half a year and this is just way too much disrespect for me as a part of the warlock community and along time player (10+ years).

That arrogant mindset, to let us suffer for so long, not communicating with us and not giving us anything in a major content patch after such a unenjoyable time is too much. How much would it cost them to drop a bluepost on the warlock forums that says:

“Hey guys, we are sorry you are in such a rough spot but we are currently figuring out how to balance warlock around rotting and how it interacts with healer mechanics. We can’t give you defenses for the first 4 months of BFA because a squirrel jumped on our keyboard and deleted the key to access the warlock section but don’t worry, we are aware. We are listening”.

It’s just way too much of a bad joke this time and until they give us one understandable reason why it took them the whole beta and 4 months into live to give us passive armor, I will not even think about paying for this game ever again.

Kinda like MOP. You’d Soul Swap your DOT’s on everyone, be top of the damage meter, yet your DOT’s just tickled. Haha!
