Hi there,
Since the update, game is not launching anymore.
I press “play”, it indicates “lanching” then turns blue again and nothing happens. The game wont open
Task manager indicates “wow.exe” runnning. The launcher does too.
Tried to update my drivers, repair game, delete Battlenet folder with no success.

Same here. Im way above minimum requirements for SL.
Try turning off Windows Defender, it worked for me.
seems like that did it, thanks a ton
It was turned off already unfortunately
I have the same problem, also tried disabling Windows Defender but makes no difference. Have been through multiple general support “guides” and nothing has fixed it so far. I’ve tried:
- Restarting network
- Deleting WTF and Interface folders
- Scan and update via the Launcher
- Resetting In-Game options via the Launcher
- Updating drivers
- Disabling anti-virus / firewalls
I’m currently doing a fresh install, will report back if that fixes it but I think it’s unlikely.
Thanks, I’ve basically gone through the same steps…
I’ll wait for your reinstall and hope it fixes it for you
Same here.
Downloaded WoW yesterday - (fresh install) - along with Battle.net launcher.
- WoW launched with no problems!
This morning there was a 2GB update…
… and it won’t launch the pre-patch
- Battle.net launcher says “game is running”, and it shows in the Task Manager, but does not launch. (Invisible for all intents and purposes)
note: of Interest, my starter WoW had a blue background yesterday,
and my ‘paid version’ (but currently no monthly sub) had a brown background.
(This was when it worked.)
… now both are the blue background for Starter (dont know if this means anything)
- Tried verifying, no issues
- Updated Windows 10
- Updated Nvidia Drivers
- Ran repairs, etc. in the command line (none needed)
- Not turning off Windows Defender (I mean, it literally launched yesterday, how did the 2GB file ‘break it’ ?
Hopefully this gets sorted - as it seems not many people are having this issue, and no word from developers about it yet.
Thanks!
Had same issue.
I have updated my graphic card driver and game starts now… but it freezes on login screen -_-

Is it working for you yet, or do you still have the same issue?
(I still cant get it to launch - just says its running, shows it in Task Manager, but isnt actually there - strange as it worked yesterday with the fresh install)
Got exactly same problem. Yesterday everything was working fine. Today after getting prepatch i cant run game even after waiting hours in queue. WoW launched, battlenet launcher says the game is running but in fact it does not.

I also have this problem. I hope this is resolved soon otherwise I am just wasting my subscription on a game I can’t play.
mine just crash on launch, i press ‘play’ it just go full black and stop working… but it might be due to my bad laptop
Hi there,
So there are a few reports here that seem to be related to the wider outage yesterday afternoon and evening. If you only had issues around that time, please try again now and you should be good to go.
For anyone that had issues prior to that, or still have issues now, a solid start would be the steps over in this article:
If you still have issues after that, we’d need you to provide some system files in order to help troubleshoot further.

EDIT: i managed to make it work!
first of all, i deleted bnet folder in c\ProgramData
restarted the app, wich updated the game, then i did a repair
restarted computer
game managed to start! yeeeesss im so damn fking happy!!
(and i discovered that you can set the main GPU (both in the system and in the game)
i’ve opened another post wich totally got ignored, basically my PC died so i’ve installed the game on my office laptop
but when i click ‘play’ the screen goes black, game go ‘has stop working’ and it just crashes/close
below i leave my laptop components
CPU: intel core i-56200U (2.3GHz)
GPU: control panel > devices > graphic card > it list the following: Intel HD graphics 520 / Nvidia Gforce 930M
RAM: 8 GB ram
any clue if this is enough to run the game? (i would say yes, maybe in the lowest setting but it should run, am i right??)
thanks in advice!
Can confirm this issue. A friend of mine is having this issue with a older computer. Yesterday wow ran fine and today wow decided to stop working. Does anyone know a fix? We are currently doing the repair thing in good hopes and will try to start the game. If that does not work we will try disabling all anti virus software etc…

Fixed it for some reason.
Closed battle.net and all its processes.
Disabled firewall and all security programs.
Removed battle.net folders in C:/Programdata.
Opened battle.net and rescanned for games.
Update started and now the game launches.
Update:
Just closed the game and a new update starts running
Update#2:
After second update game still runs
Also i think the problem for my friend was in the battle.net folders.

Did he had a error window saying ERROR #132 ?
No errors. The game crashed during launch I believe.
