I’ve yet to see a single crate in warmode… Where, when and how do you find them? Is there some addon to say when they spawn?
If you hear an aeroplane; look up and follow it - cause it’s the one dropping the war-supply crates.
War Supply Crates spawn on random specific locations in a zone after there has been enough World PvP activity in that zone. When they spawn they’ll be marked on your minimap as a chest with a star, and in the overworld you can see a beacon if you’re close by:
- Grey for unclaimed;
- Red when it’s claimed by the Horde;
- Blue when it’s claimed by the Alliance.
The reason you haven’t seen any crates, is that in your PvP shard people often do not engage combat with one another, which is a sad commonity across all PvP shards due to the 10% increased reward system.
I can’t be sure that an add-on exists to tell you when they spawn, and honestly you don’t need one. Just keep an ear out for the airplanes and cross your fingers you get there before anyone else does, because once claimed they despawn fast!

I’ve found a few, but to be honest I can’t say they’re really worth finding if you are high geared already because the gear contained in them isn’t that great (unless it is related to arena/bg rating?).
I opened one and thought I’d opened some kind of old “treasure” chest…
Ye, would be nice to get more reward from looting it, but I like to think of it as a fun thing to capture… and stop the enemy getting it. Fun is the reward. Good to at least get some conquest points from it tho.
