"Not your preferred armor type" warning for shield

I got Unscathed Rampart a Warbound shield the other day. When I’m trying to equip it (as Resto), I get a message saying it will be soulbound etc etc and a red warning below that “This is not your preferred armor type”.

Huh…?

It literally says in the Resto spec overview panel that preferred wep/arm are mace, dagger, and shield. Am I missing something?

As a Resto you need a “intellect + stamina” shield. There exists the variation of “strength + Stamina” shield for warriors and paladins.

99% of shield change the type of main stat automatically so all 3 classes can use the same shield. But not all do. The ones that dont, show up that message.

Actually you’re wrong, even shields with both stats show the message, the only condition for the warning to pop up is the shield not being bound to the character, so warband and stuff from AH will give you the warning even if it has the right stats.
