After somehow working today after A COUPLE OF HOURS, it doesn’t work again. Stuck at “initializing”. It’s a problem that’s still there after years, it’s really time to fix it.

Was working recently. Last patch / maintenance day seems to be the cause. Windows 10 / relatively old config for me.
Same for me, doing a repair was a mistake. The repair fails at 100% and starts over. I’m now stuck in an infinite repair
Same problem, just pressed play - nothing happens.
Watching the warcraft process (under battle.net in task manager if you can’t see the process itself) just steadily use more memory but otherwise do nothing at all.
Yup, got the same issue. Pressing “Play” causes the button to turn into “Starting”, after a few seconds it says “Play” again. Nice…

Same issue, doesn’t matter if i try to launch with battle net or use wow.exe
I both casese i see wow in the taskmanager. But nothing happens.
Yesterday everything worked fine
Same here as others, nothing happens after hit play, tryed a scan and repair which failed at 100% and now it is in an repair loop. Yesterday worked just fine
Same here, game will not launch, have gone through every single suggestion I could find both on blizzard tech support pages and other sites, nothing has helped.
Others here are saying the game just suddenly opened after waiting some time, so that’s what I’m doing now.

Same here, WotlK Classic works but standard live version doesn’t work. After ‘play’ nothing happens. Everything updated and patched.
Seems now that the game has some delay, I waited some minutes after clicking play and yes there it was 
I had to wait like 15 minutes after pressing play and it started. Just seems to take a while
Yes, it starts after a big delay. The problem solves itself, have patience 
The game has now launched for me after about 15 minutes of waiting, now It’s frozen on ‘Logging in to game server’.
I hope Blizzard see this issue and are on the way to fix this 
I envy people that can press play. Watch the icon in task manager for 15 minutes thinking this is fine and then it starts.

An update from my end, I managed to get to a loading screen, which I’m now stuck at because I also decided to try redownloading the game. It’s downloading, but it’s very slow.
It seems the EU servers are having a pretty bad time.
I’ve got the same problem. My downloadspeed is at 26KB/s at 65%. Also stuck and then frozen at “logging in to game server” 
If you have a VPN, try connecting it to Hong Kong or somewhere else in Asia region. It boosted my download speed from 150 KB/s to 5 MB/s.
I tried New York as well, but only got about half the speed I do with Hong Kong.
It’s still not great, but worth a shot.
