Now that we can soon farm transmogs of any type

…It would be nice to also have the quest reward limitations lifted from old content so that one can choose an item based on either having or not having its appearance learned or simply because one wants to.

As someone who uses heirlooms for leveling and those looms do last to almost level cap, all the quest rewards are basically meaningless junk other than having some monetary value. Naturally some boots, cuffs, waist etc could still be useful for me, but mostly i change them when i remember rather than taking them for use.

For me, it would just make sense as an extension for new transmog farming to be able to also farm transmogs of any armor or weapon type from old quests. What do you think?

what do you mean by “now that we can soon farm transmogs of any type”?
i only heard about grey items so far, but nothing about this one.

I think “any type” here means any quality, which will be correct once Blizzard get their poop together and complete what they promised to do.

What i meant is, that if you can wear it, it will be added to transmog so that if a plate wearer does a transmog run on some old raid for example, then all cloth, mail and so forth that character gets will be added to transmog collection.

This is what i got from few articles and a video summing up new features coming in Dragonflight.

It might have been that i misuderstood the thing somehow or that it was changed after those or something. However what comes for grey items, i thought they will not add these to transmog yet but later™.

this prob not gonna happen knowing blizz!

Any chance u can find any source to that? Because that sounds too good to be real

It also sounds pretty unfair for cloth class mains.

Yea cloth got it worst , and it slowly goes up, with warior as clear winner .

They should made all legacy content loot(tmogs) learnable by everyone .

Sadly i cant find it but im also tired and want to go sleep so i just did a fast search. It was a video about something like changes you need to knopw or something. A video.

In other matter, once again someone is telling how unfair this is (If its even true) for cloth wearers and is right too, because if one can farm anything one can use then cloth wearing priest will be able to get very litle compared to sa… A warrior.

Then again if we all were a bit less concerned of how unfair some new feature is to myself and rather think that its a step to right direction opening avenues to free up even more, there would be more possibilities for people to try and ask features as a whole rather than what i or you want.

Anyways, i will try to find the soyrce tomorrow if i remember. I hope its true because i have been waiting this since i saw it on that video. Though getting some grey and white items is also superb.

if they had any sense of the matter if the item is in your bag it should be unlocked because most items when farmed are BOPs

There are no plans to make this happen.

You need to be the armor type that you are collecting and for weapons you need to be able to equip them.

I’ve seen nothing saying any of that will change (I’m always happy to be wrong if someone has a source).

That’s not coming. There was a small time during beta where you could unlock cloth/leather/mail/plate ensembles if you bought them from a vendor but that has since been removed.

I must have misunderstood it then or the video was made in assumption it will be a feature. Sad that it will not be so.

Either way, it does not change the fact that people need to be able to collect transmogs of any type exept those with clear clas resriction with any class regardless of what they wear and use. They may think it adds to replayability of game when you can only get certain things on certain classes but what it does, is add replayability of grinding for mogs in instances alone/solo which then is away from the game world population and it also builds up frustration like when i have been trying to get a certain mog for a paladin from Ulduar for years and while i have gotten all sorts of stuff other character would have been using, they cant use because they are not added to collection because they are wrong armor type or wrong weapon type. I will not repeat that grind with other character, i will use something i have instead and sometimes the frustration over limitations on self expression just drivew me away for moths or year to other games like ESO where you can make your character look how you want him/her to be and then you can just concentrate on adventuring and roleplaying instead of frustrating grind of items.

Selling all those extra items also generates gold which slowly breaks the economy and having all those limitations also adds to ridiculous prices on low level items on AH because people are getting them all the time, but cant add to collection because they are wrong type, then greedy gold farmers on AH will sell them and people with gold will buy while other who dont have that wealth like new players suffer the concequence. I have not seen this bad inflation of cosmetic stuff in any other game than WoW and i have a strong feeling its the limitations that make that happen.

Same with quest rewards. People need to be able to get what they want from quests and add them to collection or use. Same with some reputation items like shoulder enchants. My lightforged could use the nice shoulder enchant from Vindicaar but the one character with enougfh reputation cant buy and mail it because its bop and i will not repeat that grind on other characters just for a glow on my shoulders.

That brings to mind, that shoulder glows should also be in transmog like weapon glows.

In any case i seem to digress here

Funny how a sword can be a staff but a dress can’t be a breastplate :rofl:

Wand can also be a dagger but dagger cant be wand… Hmm…
