Now we now why sylvanas statue was destroyed

too much for the game

would of loved to see them turn it into a giant statue of a bowl of fruit.

can I have a quick recap?

Basically it goes like this;

Blizzard depicted the statue of Sylvanas in ruins, because well, The Alliance did wreck the joint, because that’s what you do to statues of the enemy leader when you’re doing the devastation Tango through their lands. That’s just a ‘thing’ that has been around for recorded history.

So, this was at the start of BfA, so long before the Court case against the Frat Boy culture. Even longer than we think, because that will all have been coded during the last patch of Legion.

So fast forward a few years, and the Court case became public, like, this year.

Some nonsensical moves were made by Blizz, including removing the word that is a synonym for a female dog, in a VA line that Garrosh said to Sylvanas during Cataclysm. Cataclysm, because it apparently offended an employee’s child. The irony being that they left -in- quest dialogue using far worse swearing, in both Silverpine, and in Twilight Highlands. So obviously double standards. Now, assuming said child is 12+ (which they should be, to play Warcraft) then unless they live in a hyper religious commune, they will have heard that word anyway, if they’re younger than 12, then that’s just bad parenting.

Then they started to do weird stuff recently, and bizarrely generating more outrage than if they hadn’t. All of this designed to deflect attention from the Law case, renaming locations, turning pictures of women into pictures of fruit, that most people wouldn’t have noticed existed, but now most certainly do… removing/renaming vanity npc’s from game (To my opinion, Vanity NPC’s are a stupid idea anyway, and just an ego stroke) whilst leaving in, a Racist Sexist, who is female.

Again, Double Standards on their part, and producing an outrage such as we see now, despite the Sylvanas statue being destroyed being an odd take on this, because that was demolished as a statue to a ‘despotic’ leader by invading forces, introduced waaaay before all this storm occurred.

TL:DR? No, the wrecking of the Sylvanas statue was nothing to do with the current poopstorm…

apparently the court case was 2 years in the making when it was announced so it could of existed back then at that time … tbh

what is mainly concerning to me about it all…

is that blizzard seem to of only done anything to address it after it was made public… before it was public it was life as normal ?

a bit suspect

makes me wonder what else is going on there which has yet come to light.

me:-

trust in blizzard 2005 =100%

trust in blizzard 2021 = 0%

Think BfA was announced at the 2017 Blizzcon, and released in 2018, so again, kinda 3-4 years, and it would be a weird take of them to remove Sylvanas’ statue but then have her a focal character in BfA and Shadowlands. Admittedly moreso in SL than BfA…

If it was to do with the Scandal and the Court case was known by them that far in advance, you’d have thought these things would have been done in BfA, if they were trying to deflect attention. Instead, all of them were done -after- their removal, which then drew everyone’s attention .

Just seems a) very counter intuitive of them, or b) that their PR department really haven’t got a clue, which is admittedly, a possibility.

The recent changes, yes, that is botched PR, I don’t think the Sylvanas statue being destroyed, I mean Brill is uninhabitable now, the Alliance are not going to raze Brill and leave a hossing great statue to their dire enemy intact are they?

Madeline Roux, directly named such in Maldraxxus as an NPC. Now Vanity NPC’s are a ridiculous concept anyway, and should never happen (If you have to tell people you are important, then you probably aren’t)

Hers however, is a calumny that will not go away. She is an ill-educated hypocrite.

“Mathias and Flynn are Bisexual” Cool, says the none knuckledragger playerbase…

“White men are scum” She says.
People righfully get angry " How can you say that, you have never met me, why are you defining me by my skin colour and gender?"

Blizzard support her.

“White people need to stop”
That’s the exact phrase she used, not cropped. So need to stop what, precisely? Stop what they are doing? That could cost them their jobs…stop breathing? That’s pretty much genocide. There was no explanation, because of course it was on Twitter. “Covfee fee”

Then the genius move (And I use ‘genius’ in a sarcastic term) “White people need to stop!” When referring to a mixed race couple who had named their cat “Abracadbra” Which shows a colossal ignorance of history, that frankly, I would have expected better from, from someone who writes for the NY Times…Or maybe…I should not have… Then said on Twitter “Oh no, I upset people’s precious Fee-Fees, you could play other games”

Wow. “Wow, I upset people by being racist and sexist, go play a different game!”

Astounding. That NPC is still there, so I guess racism and sexism are back on the agenda…

It was in Brill.

She has a few advantages that make her words not count. 1 its against men. 2 its against white people. 3 she is a white women in the US, which is probably one of the most protected group of people on the planet.

Still absolute hypocrisy. She’s still a sexist, she’s still a racist, and she mocks those who disagree with her being a sexist racist. And Blizzard support her.

They’re completely missing the point, soooo, Sexism is OK? Racism is OK? I mean you have a vanity NPC named exactly for a person who is a sexist racist…so, that’s OK now is it? But we can’t have Garrosh calling someone a (female dog) who frankly is a (Female dog) because it offends their child?

Still sounds like bad parenting to be honest.

What next, we have Roy ‘Chubby’ Brown as an NPC, or Bernard Manning.

They should hold her to the same account that they hold the male NPC’s vanity NPC’s in the game. To do otherwise is completely missing the point.

She also needs to learn some history, as she is woefully mistaken on a few issues…

I had no idea she had a statue, but I’m glad its gone.

Also, I’m with Brig about that hypocritical issue.

It’s a war. Of course the statue would get destroyed similar to the Danath Trollbane statue during Cataclysm.

Or the Night elf statue in the temple of Elune.

Alleria on the other hand, her statues still stand. KWEEEEN :crown:
