Now WoW doesn't start anymore

Solution: put airplane mode on, press start wait for it to open, airplane mode off, log in with credentials.

Or close blizz update agent in task mnger and start.

Updating NVidia Game Ready drivers solved the issue for me.

same issue

Thank you <3

Nvidia update fixed it for me.

For me the only solution is “scan and fix” but it takes so long every time i try to launch it. They have to fix this already.

Still not working properly for me. Tried Nvidia update, no change. Sometimes it starts the WoW exe process, sometimes it does not, but either case it does not start the game. If I quit the Battle.net app it will suddenly start the WoW exe, but still nothing happens. I tried scan and repair yesterday and then it worked, but last time I tried it just got stuck on 0% scanning game files…

What even broke this? Was there even a game update?

  • Scan and Repair fixes it once
  • Issue repeats on every new attempt
  • “Just waiting” does nothing, waiting 10 minutes already and nothing happens
  • Drivers are up to date
  • Literally everything else works on my system.

And Blizzard in all it’s wisdom is remaining silent about this.
Oh right, they fired everyone, nobody left to fix this.

15 minutes to start the game

15 MINUTES BLIZZARD, ON A RYZEN 9 WITH 32GB RAM ?!

Waiting 10 minutes doesn’t ‘solve’ anything. There’s an issue on their end that they are not acknowledging and obviously refuse to do a blue post about. It is ridiculous and not the way the game is designed to operate. That they continue to stay silent about it speaks volumes about the low levels of service Blizzard has become known for. Telling us to wait 10 minutes for a game to start is not a solution at all.

This worked for me:

Updated add-ons
Updated NVidia Drivers
Installed Windows updates
Rebooted

I now get in quickly and reliably (so far fingers crossed)

You really, honestly, call that a “solution”?

i dont even suggest any solutions… it is the connection into blizz servers somehow. if you trace the connection it makes the errors are just so plentyfull it is mindboggling… just click a few times… make breakfast, have a shower and it will start up. it is not a US problem… it is a them problem!

Well this is interesting. Did Scan and Repair yesterday which fixed it, but this morning the game isn’t opening again. Have they really not addressed this?

Same thing happening to me today (9/7/25)

It seems that none of these fixes are permanent, only temporary solutions, followed the clean install of battle.net app yesterday, scan and repair works (if even presented with the option), closing update agent / wow clients / run as admin

Did the scan and rep again, worked for me…for now.

obviously something in the boot process is absolutely cooked
if you start the process and track the in use memory while its starting you can see this number rising excruciatingly slowly
if I had to make a guess it feels like blizzard changed how the game boots which causes this issue, it feels like a scan is taking place in the background maybe some new anti bot or anti cheat mechanic or maybe a filecheck of the wow installation that wasn’t tested properly as is tradition of blizzard?
