It actually launches if you leave it alone. Was having the same issue but then left it hanging after clicking Play - in about 5 minutes the game started.
Time to delete
I just repair the game and then start instantly. Its take like 10 minutes.
I logged out of the launcher and back in again, it seemed to fix it for me if anyone is still having issues
Thank you! Fixed it for me, although I had to log in and out twice, and before that, killed all the 7 WoW processes I’ve created
Tried logging out but still not working here. [Okay it took 15 minutes to start but is working now.]
Having the same problem here too.
Yup, same issue…
me and my wife have the same problem
Looks like im having a similar issue, scanning game files in the launcher doesnt even seem to be working.
oh joy another day another bug
It is starting, slowly however. So klick ‘play’ and wait for 5 mins or so.
Same for me, thank you to all the people who said to just wait, it saved my sanity from trying dead ends on 100 trouble shooting options.
Seems like scan and repair fixed this for me. I had to kill all of the blizzard processes and relaunch bnet to get the option to do it as it was greyed out.
oh wow it’s still happening and not a word from Blizz0rd, kind of expected that to be perfectly honest xD
Scan and Repair did the trick as well for Retail. For Classic, didn’t really help, still hanging for 5 minutues before booting anything up. I wouldn’t say I have a low/mid-end PC at all, it shouldn’t take this long. I’m backing up my addons and settings and trying to reinstall Classic completely, maybe this will help.
Had the same issue this morning. Saw everyone recommended Scan & Repair but couldn’t do it 'cause it was greyed out. Checked the Nvidia app and saw there was new drivers to download so I did that and everything works smoothly again.
After multiple failed login attempts and restarts the Scan & Repair that others suggested worked for me as well. It appeared to update some files and then the game launched normally. Give it a try, but be patient since it appeared stuck at 0% for quite a while before it made progress.
Opened Taskmanager, end process wow.exe and
- opened “Windows Defender Firewall”,
- option “Allow an app or feature through WDF”
- change settings, allow another app
- browse to location of wow version you wanna start, pick that wow.exe executable
- Ok ok ok
- Start wow how you prefer…
Fixed it for me, wow starts up again.
Scan Repair then update worked for me… loaded in now
