So dear Blizzard Class developers now that Retribution Paladin is near the bottom all things are balanced? Should we all reroll Warrior and Death Knight to be able to participate in Mythic Nerub-ar? I wonder how you test the buffs/nerfs you do in patches? You just make them on a whim? “Oh, which mid-tier class should we screw now?” “oh oh I know lets screw retribution paladin to make more jokes about them”.
Well dear Blizz I give you a little more time since I got 2 WoW tokens in my bags. If you don’t fix Retribution Paladin until then this will be my last farewell. (I know I wont be missed and all these silly jokes)
I started the game after 8 years break because I heard you fixed Retribution Paladin in Dragonflight. But it was too good to last right? Cause you need a Class to make jokes and memes.
I am really tired of nothing changing over the years. I have played World of Warcraft since 2004. My main character was and will be Retribution Paladin. I don’t intend to change my main because your balance is bad. I tried other classes but it wasn’t fun. And I don’t want to be a burden in a raid cause you decided to make us AGAIN a low tier dps spec.
Numbers prove that we were right about dawnlight nerf was bad. So I kindly ask to fix retribution paladin and all other dps spec that underperform.
When I look it up over the last day, regardless of percentile, you’re above average or at the average. My spec, Frost Mage, is consistently worse - yet I’m not opening threads and crying.
What is the problem? Being average instead of godmode?
You’re actually doing comparatively better this week than last week.
I am confused.
Where did you get that? Thats before dawnlight nerf? Have checked the Wowheads dps rankings that i linked?
These charts will never show every class being 100% aligned. Sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind, that is how it has always been. At least there is nothing glaringly underperforming.
I think ret being buttom it’s good
God forbid there is not at least 10 threads per day about class/spec whiners taking it personally.
From your own link since the change has only been active for a day. Look at the top of the picture - that’s the settings I chose.
Well they should. Thats what balance means.
well u gotta remember ret pally gotta complain
Still we are under arms warriors. Thats warrior’s 2nd dps spec. And we are under fire mage which is mage 2nd dps spec. And frost is mage 3rd dps spec. I wish i had another dps spec that can be on par with Death knight unholy or Frost or Fury warrior or Arcane mage.
I responded in the other thread you cried about this on.
You’re wrong. You’re not objective and you’re whining because you’re upper-average and not top.
If you want to know why dev’s ignore 99% of the drivel on forums its because of threads like this that don’t contain a shred of proof, just somebody mad pointing to a graph and screaming its broken.
You claim to work on facts and statistics and evidence and you can’t even work out how to pull a graph for the correct time period.
Quoting from the Wowhead page:
“We say perspective, as there are inherent biases in looking at the data this way.
-
Specs considered underpowered are generally played less and tend to appear weaker than they are.
-
This happens as many performance-oriented players tend to play the strongest spec or class, increasing the gap between top and bottom specs even further.
-
Position of specs for the 95th percentile might be skewed by alternative strategies and parse funneling. We’re including the chart showing all percentiles’ results to paint a better picture for all specs.
-
Tier acquisition will skew how balance looks for the first weeks of Season 4.
-
Encounter balance will skew Mythic data while not many guilds have progressed further into the raid, making specs appear further ahead than they are.”
These disclaimers mean the data being presented isn’t entirely reliable as an objective measure of class balance.
Unless you are a top percentile player DPS charts aren’t terribly meaningful. Most people would better improve their DPS by being better at their spec and at the fight in question, than by re-rolling to another class.
You’re still doing fine. So warriors and shamans are are too good - okay. Does that hurt you particularly? And is the problem ret specifically?
I don’t think it is.

So no ret Paladin is one of the most played class. If what you say is true then the actual number are worse than posted in wowhead.
But that is just the class distribution. Not all palies are retri I would assume.
Does widespread use of Ret in the general player-base reflect in Mythic raid participation and spec selection? Mythic raiding is only engaged in by a tiny percentage of players - you would need data on how frequently players who do that content are playing Ret to have a valid observation there.
cries in druid
What is a lie, is people who look at those DPS ranking meters and think that they can actually pump out the same numbers as people who put in more effort, have better gear and actually understand their class to a higher degree.
cries in hunter
Hunter has two speccs above druid, one being very high above :<
