Nvidia drivers

Hello everyone.
I haven’t updated my Nvidia drivers for a long time, still running 46.,… sth with no problems.
I use an msi rtx 2060
My question is: is it worth updating to latest Nvidia driver? Are there any problems with wow?
I have searched around but findings were inconclusive. (so many setups!)
I would really appreciate some opinions.

The current driver is the worst one the card ever had, for now at least. New issues threads are being made pretty much every day for a lot of games.

If you want to update it, update to 512.95.

I update my Nvidia drivers every time a new update comes out. I have zero issues with WoW. Wow isn’t the only game I play ofc but none have issues so far. It probably depends on what you play.

You should always keep your drivers updated. This ensures the game runs well, and that the latest driver bug fixes are present on your system.

I always keep my drivers updated and currently have no issues. There were some problems last year with weird texture ‘flickering’ but that got resolved.

Yes same here, but i’ve found that using Geforce to actually set WoW for you can cause problems. I just use it to download the latest drivers and nothing else.

I tend to use it as a baseline when I start new games then tweak it to what I prefer or find works best.

Can’t believe these forums have been useful amongst all the disgusting rubbish thats been posted recently.

Just checked, and I reformatted my laptop, and my geforce experience had gone, now upto date.

New drivers are for new cards. 2060 is fairly modern so it may benefit from update.
Older cards? nope, never update drivers on older cards!
I am using driver from 2019, and if i upgrade to new one i get fps drop.

Generally not, newer drivers most of the time are to support newer games and/or support/fix newer graphics cards. Very few releases target WoW.

I hope Nvidia and blizzard will optimize dragonflight for Nvidia drivers as shadowlands was mostly optimized for amd graphics cards .

yeah i wish things were more optimized if i optimize on geforce directly or razer its awful in game, u have to manually tweak and check fps count all the time. also card gets very hot. MSI 3070 here, and when i run other games graphics are so much better and i loose like 10 degrees

I keep drivers updated, but only use in game settings to tweak the graphics- less heat on the graphics card. AMD cpu and nvidia GPU is a great combo

Part of this would also be due to Blizzards engine being an old unoptimised mess with newer tech bolted on over the years.

I will update my drivers then.
Just saw there is a hotfix driver from Nvidia.
I will install those.

Download geforde experience, it keepsxan eye on your drivers and lets uou know when they need updating

I like that it just tells us every time a new one is available.

I only install when the first numbers before the first dot of the driver number changes.

So when 517 comes I will install that.
