Yes.
The Void basically pursues every possible future, because it sees them all as true – even the ones that are not.
So it would also see this future.
And I think with regards to N’zoth, then this is still part of his plan. I mean, he tested us in the Crucible of Storms and made us his champions. But what did he test us for? What is it N’zoth wants us to do on his behalf that we aren’t aware of?
Afterward he beckoned us to Ny’alotha and we killed him…or did we? Technically we’ve simply stored his essence inside Xal’atath – the blade which he himself made sure to provide.
So we appear as pawns in a game, but we don’t know what game.
Is it related to The Jailer? Probably. The Void is the enemy of Death. The Three Sisters comic has a panel where Alleria’s whispers literally scream at her to murder Sylvanas – that she is dangerous.
My own theory is that N’zoth wants to bring about The Hour of Twilight and The Jailer presents the opportunity to do so.
So far the Old Gods haven’t really been successful at bringing about their prophesized Hour of Twilight. We beat Deathwing up real good, right?
But if The Jailer comes to threaten Azeroth, then who is going to stop him?
The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
And so we may end up ushering in The Hour of Twilight and unleash the Old Gods on Azeroth, if only to have an ally that can fight The Jailer.
And so we end up being the champions of N’zoth and ushering him and his Old God pals into Azeroth and fighting on their side against The Jailer.
That’s my speculated theory at least. Not sure how plausible it is, but I like it!
I do think it’s certain to say that N’zoth’s story plot is not done. Blizzard deliberately made a cinematic to show that he gets stabbed with Xal’atath – which is a blade that can store someone’s essence.
So all that story is not finished.
But yeah, like Battle for Azeroth, then I also think this expansion is an Old God expansion. But we’ll see. Blizzard does like to pull that Old God rabbit out of the hat as their final trick though.
