So I fired up me old frost dk today and attacked a few target dummies in boralus rocking the obliteration build of course and I gotta admit its not that bad…its not back to Legion standards but its a far lot better then 8.0 +.
Not as much downtime, rune regen is back to a good steady okish standard but I’m still unsure of it. Its good it’s better but it still doesn’t feel quite as fluid as it did in Legion.
I’m actually updating right now and subscribing again because I’ve heard frost DK’s finally get a buff and obliteration is playable again!
Now if only we would be able to use a 2H weapon and all would be good.
It’s basically the same as before, the difference is so slight it makes barely any difference.
Single target still sucks and aoe is average compared to other classes / specs…almost every group I play with says the same and most won’t even bring frost dk into raid groups. M+ is fine for 1-10 weekly but higher keys no one wants to know about frost.
Almost everyone is still choosing Unholy/Blood. You can push it as best you can or do what most do and roll another class/spec and instantly get higher dps with half the effort or gear…
Blizz had a chance to make decent changes and there were some on PTR but got nerfed before reaching live…
Then you have to choose one spec again BOS which a lot of people are just sick of or don’t like. Blizz messed up, again with Frost.
Frost still sucks just not “as bad”… I am still sticking with it for M+ and Guild Raids and aoe its fine, even though still there are better specs/classes, single target it just lags behind all the rest which require less gear and effort for better results.
I still prefer Blood out of all specs but in 8.2 im gearing as best I can to frost and then switching back to Blood main so can off spec DPS when needed. Probably continue to heroic raid frost and M+ Frost/Blood to test it out more but not expecting much difference. I had to step down as raid tank blood because of work schedule, hence why I even bothered to try frost… seem’s unholy is still way way better.
