Ohn'ahran plains needs to be reworked

Ohn’ahran plains is so painfully tedious, and it’s a really drop for the story, you come of a high of the fight between Raz and alex, helping the black dragons get their home back, all with character we know and like. Than boom you’re told to speak with some centaurs for no good reason, get introduced to a bunch of characters that are incredibly bland, it’s a real slog fest. The goods news is azure span is great, so you basically just have to grit your teeth and bear with it through ohn’ahran. This is why I believe it needs a rework.

Maybe have the initial quest where we meet with some of the green dragon flight or maybe some druids approach us at the ruby pools telling us the primalist are plotting something towards at the wild gods and the emerald dream and they need out help. Keep some main characters that we care about around through the area.

Honestly, I think it will be a big put off for new players even returning.

It’s my understanding that Adventure Mode lets you do the zones in any order, so you can save the worst (Ohn’ahran) for last. I haven’t tried yet though.

To each their own I suppose… I loved Ohn’ahran Plains and the centaurs.
Would happily pitch a tent and join one of their caravans!

I get there’s alot of personal preference but you have to agree it’s a real slow down in the story and doesn’t really progress anything.

Yep. And it’s literally slow in the start when you ride alongside their super slow caravan. Though I’m biased as primitive savages bore/annoy me in any game so devoting a whole zone to them is urgh. Not a huge fan of Kalimdor either, but they’re still somewhat more bearable.

Well, I’m doing all the side quests and alot of exploration so none of this is going fast for me!
I just really like that vibe they have, kinda like tribesmen or American Indians. As somebody who plays mainly BM hunters it is right up my alley…
In fact the whole zone screams BM hunter really! LOL

Seems more like Mongolian influenced to me, since all leaders are kahns etc but I get your point, I’m sure if you’re a roleplayer it might be good. I’m talk from a more general player aspect you go from a zone where you’re progressing the main story with characters that you know and are integral to the plot, to just go chill with some nomads. It’s like story whiplass, I thought 10m ago it was super urgent we focus on getting the oath stones lit. I know that’s ultimately what happens but there’s no reason why it does.

It would be like someone needs to be rushed to the hospital but instead you go to the supermarket and help refill shelves, then it turns out someone was stealing cars so you stop that and, in the process, recover an ambulance by chance. Then taken to the hospital. It’s just random stuff for the sake of random stuff. The zone is fine the story of the Khan’s is fine it’s just got nothing to do with what we were doing in the first place,

My post wasn’t saying change the story of the centaurs. It was saying that the interaction of meeting the centaurs is off key, we should have gone straight to the green dragonflight first then say been turned away or knocked out of the sky because there’s a storm blocking us which is caused by the primals and then we meet the centaurs because they’re fighting the primals and so on.

Yeah, it’s the timing really, just feels like it stops all of a sudden and makes you learn a bunch of tribe names like a quiz after (I didn’t get the quiz right)

Right after though it picks right up.
It probably has to do with learning with images and action rather than just reading text while the background barely changes.

Yeah that annoyed me too a little. I don’t mind the slow ride cause they let me ride that dog thing and they talk about stuff, what annoyed me was the dramatic pauses between the bits of information we got. Otherwise I don’t mind some exposition like that now and then and a chance to notice the world around me. And keep in mind that during that trip I got ganked by a lvl 70 ret several times.

Also not sure if I’m having a graphical glitch but the main centaur khan’s face seemed really low rez compared to everyone else. Anyone else see that. I’m playing on max settings with a good rig so not sure if it’s just a bug I encountered.

I honestly did not notice. I looked at some of the models but aside the armor they look really stupid. Anyway, Im almost done with the area I think. Can’t wait to move on to the walrus man area. I’m sure I’m gonna love it.

I’ve not long got here and honestly it’s great. I actually unsubbed earlier because I was so miserable playing in the centaur place. Since being here, might end up re subbing once the games times out if the next zones as fun as this one

Centaurs are just an overdose of fancy names/titles and “tribal” life… and yeah, still don’t get why mighty dragons would need the help of non-magical horse ppl just because 10’000 years ago a dragon and a centaur were friends… definitely not enough dragons / known characters in that zone in comparison to the other ones. From all the campaign zones by far the weakest one.

The female centauren faces… or, well, the feminine female centauren faces look off, indeed, noticed the same thing. Still less ugly than the masculine female faces and the bulky horse bodies, but the male faces looked more detailed.

Hm, think Azure Span is still my favourite, because questing with Kalec / Khadgar felt great, but the time zone isn’t that bad either… despite them overdoing it with the time-jokes…

Aww man, don’t unsub just because of one zone xD

That’d be me cursing my town because there’s a McDonalds a couple blocks down.

I love the zone too. It’s so beautiful and serene.

In order to unlock the Adventure mode, you have to level one character the way it was intended first.

Yes, that’s correct. Though it seems OP has progressed past the zone that bothered him and I wanted to point out that he won’t have to bother with it as early the next time around.

Yeah I appreciate the info, cheers :). if I keep playing it will make leveling an alt abit nicer, although I might just do it first to get it out the way so I can enjoy the rest of it. I honestly didn’t make this post to moan by the way it’s meant as feedback and I wondered if anyone else also felt this piece of the game just didn’t fit.
