Ret is useless vs casters, and most of the maps are big, running with our dispellable freedom and then sobbing like a baby after ppl. Can we please get some tuning? Mages are op, rouges are flying op. Please? Just please look at ret? Give ret mortal strike and MAYBE, it will be seen in 3s and higher in playerbase.
While ur at it, Fix MMR in shuffle again. Meeting all casters lobbies will kick ur cr in the stomach and stomp you 200- cr and mmr if ur at a decent mmr 2100+
This seasons iteration of ret has actually fixed MOST of the “wheelchair” slow moving aspect of ret. Freedom should be undispellable when cast on self. Not be a choice node with pony freedom.
I also think radiant glory has been a test to see if they can move away from 2min wings. Sadly I think this is going to be the case. But burst has suffered.
I agree that ret utility is the big issue, damage is actually not too bad now. But without that oomph outside of double hammer of light. We have little.
I do think the pressure inside Radiant glory and shake the heavens is nice. But perhaps a way to focus shake the heavens hammers onto a single target. For a brief period. Maybe that could be a 2min DPS CD
“For the next X seconds after casting hammer of light, all empyrean hammers will strike that target”
This could equate to that old timey fear of wings being popped.
We kinda lost that back in SL when the duration of steed went from 3 sec to… was it 10-12 sec at the end of SL with borrowed power? Yes was nurfed in DF to 6 sec but got dispel immune freedom. As templar buffed again + extra speed at start but lost dispel protection.
The problem i see is all the redundant speed talents that dont stack that ret has.
What use are Obdurancy and Lead the Charge when Judgment of Justice is active?
What use are the above when Unbound freedom is active?
What use are the above when Steed is active?
Why doesnt Crusader Aura stack with steed?
What use is speed stat when none of the above (i think, maybe the first 2 do?) stacks with it?
If steed of Liberty is chosen, Unbound freedom does nothing to yourself.
As for Ret burst potential, imo its a zero sum game in the overall dps. We would do the same dmg but either sustained or most of it in a window.
If all our dmg is in a burst window, a CC, deff CD have a high chanse to render that burst mute. With no dmg outside window its hard to force the target to use them prior window.
Ret is just plain bad pvp wise.
Whats the point of 20 yards range when casters just kite you 24/7.
Vs warrior that range is useless since their mortal strike alone can do more dmg than all of our abilitys combined ( not including wake of ashes).
Just scrap it and redo the spec for s2 ,ret is lame nd bad right now .
To all feral , mages or whatever class you are that say ret is fine all i can say is look at guys like Savix, a guy who got multi rank 1s as ret and now he he play only pve.
I would like to post some thoughts regarding ret.
Consecrated ground is kinda nice but i think the area should be buffed to 50% instead of 15 and the slow speed to 60%.
Blessing of Freedom and Blessing of Protection should be baseline talents and there should be talents that reduce the cooldown and make unspellable for like 3 seconds ( afterwards they can be purged/dispelled or even stolen) Also this would be a choice between reduce CD or unspellable.
Justicar’s Vengeance should be buffed to do at least 10% more damage than Templar’s Verdict as it can be done to melee range (or some small range up to 5 meters) and reduce healing done by 15% stacking 3 times with a duration of lets say 6 seconds.
Flash of Light should be buffed by 100% since it is currently worthless and selfless healer buff extra 50% when cast on allies. Of course this can be tuned down if this is way too much but you get the point.
Avenging Wrath Might need also to be buffed for pvp to be at least somewhat compared to crusade
From PvP talents Lawbringer and Luminescence should get a small buff and Ultimate retribution need a complete rework as in its current state is useless.
One thing few people touch on is Justicars vengeance.
It’s never picked for a reason. It could very easily be made into a valid choice by increasing its base damage (it has significantly less range than Tv). And as suggested providing a debuff on the enemy that stacks up to X amount.
Instead of a flat healing reduction. It could absorb x% healing done and redirect it to the pala.
This would either force healing through it (and healing the pala). Or stopping healing. Effectively like an MS effect. But thematically more suited.
Even better. What’s the point of 20 yards range when the casters can perma slow you and root you at 30+ yards while killing you? Obviously, it’s worst when playing against mages.
They should give us seraphim back as a pvp talent and buff final verdict i would not mind getting kited that when i eventually catch up the spell im casting to try and do damage is actually doing something decent blizzard are a joke
