Old authenticator app support ends on January 5th

I’m kind of just pointing out the sticky thread exists, I’m assuming lots of people don’t pay attention to the stickies.

I mean technically the old Authenticator is the physical one that I use.

I think it’s the old app that’s dying, right?

Not the physical one for key chains.

Pretty important to point out outside of the FAQ. I think the headline is a bit too vague given there’s an even older authentication that is still supported.

I’d possibly have gone with “Old authenticator app support ends on January 5th”

Ok I’ll edit the title to avoid confusion.

The physical ones die all by themselves. The battery doesn’t last forever.

I’d like to see blizzard adding options for other 2FA authenticators like Authy.

Obviously, but that has nothing whatsoever to do with whether or not Blizzard has deprecated it. If you have a working authenticator there is no need to take action.

I never said otherwise. I merely pointed out the physical ones die all by themselves.

I am well aware of what is changing over with the phone apps. I already migrated over once they integrated the function into the bnet app.

My precious authenticator is still alive! I almost never have to use it these days so that helps but its hanging in there my old little friend

Sadly mine gave out years ago. I still have it somewhere.

My son’s one still works though.

I have a physical one attached to my account, but I think I will remove it and use the new app instead.

Edit: I removed the physical one but it turns out my old phone number is still on the account so I try to change it to my new one, but it requires the old phone…which I no longer have.
