Old Curse Client

I’ve not used it in years, but I used to use Forge where it auto updated your addons.

Now curse has the twitch app. No idea what the twitch app is, but I don’t like the sound of it, and not sure what a streaming service has to do with my addons.

Can I get the old version?

Is this twitch app ok? Or is it just curse selling out?

From what I understand the Twitch app contains all the same functions as the old Curse app, in terms of addon management anyway. I’ve been using it for months and never had any issues with it.

Is it full of spam and stuff? I don’t understand why Twitch needs to be incorporated.

Can I install the Twitch client, have it scan my addons and it updates them automatically?

Twitch bought out Curseforge, and incorporated addon management into the Twitch Client in order to attract more people to it. That’s why the curseforge client doesn’t exist anymore.

The Twitch Client isn’t actually full of spam at all, at worst you might see one ad banner. The streaming features of the application can be easily ignored, as addons have their own dedicated tab in the app.

The Twitch client can do just addon management. It has all the features the curseforge application had, with the addition that it can update all addons at once instead of two at a time. Twitch has made the premium curseforge features freely available that way.

Ok thankyou. If you are a Twitch Prime subscriber, any benefits in this app?

I don’t believe there are any benefits for Twitch Prime subscribers when it comes to addon management. All Prime benefits are in relation to the streaming portion of the app.

For your reference, this is what the addon management portion of the app looks like. As you can see, streaming stuff can be easily ignored and there aren’t any ads. http://prntscr.com/lm8fkf

Thanks man, looks fine. I’ll get around to it this week
