Old man / Young elf

Let’s say for example there is old man who is 80 years old, and in the other side there is young elf lady who acts like a teenager but she is 1000 years old ( Since she is elf )
Who should respect the other for being the oldest? Should the old man respect the young elf lady for being oldest than him in years, or should the young elf lady respects the old man for being what he is?

elf should respect old man if he’s nice, unless he’s that angry old gnome warrior who spams general, she should slap him and pay him no respect

Age shouldn’t automatically inherit respect, either of them could be a very unpleasant person but it should be mutually given initially.

But if we are talking about it in the sense of a fantasy world, well look at the relationship in other universes, elves are seen as the old and wise but they do look kindly upon younger races and take into account their experience.
I don’t feel this is the case so much in Warcraft as all the Elven races in Warcraft are descendant of Night Elves, who are or have been inherently arrogant throughout history.

The thing is behaving like a teenager means behaving like an idiot. That doesn’t deserve respect. Especially if you lived 1000 years already. With age you expect experience. Teenage like beehaviour is synonymous with lack of experience and knowledge.

Everyone by default deserves basic form of respect until you get to know them enough to make a decision if they still deserve it. That’s why I think the Old man deserve more respect. How can anyone respect an elf that is more than 100 years old and behaves like a kid.
