Old models and old animations options

Please. Give us an option.

Very funny but that model is from Warcraft 3.

Strap the texture onto a 3D model of a trash can (low poly) and here’s your vanilla character

What i would suggest blizzard to do instead is to be a bit more lenient on the animations they use for skills, they have class animations, spec, race, all kinds of it, you know you can mix and match some of those? You don’t necessarily have to use only the condemn animation for obliterate, you could have 3 or 4 animations for it, and they play at random or depending on which actions you take.

Nope. Each skill should have a distinct animation so on top of seeing a cast bar going off, or your GDC kicking in, you get good visual and sound feedback on the exact skill that’s happening.

Yeah, no. Go play Runescape if you want blocky pixelated PoS models.

PPL requesting the old models are seriously very weird.

Look at those children trying to seek my attention. Nope you are not getting any here. Try again with someone else.

9.1 seems like good patch.

When they removed our original models, they betrayed their commitment to re-create them, instead leaving us with unrecognisable changelings.

Chris Robinson originally promised in the original Artcraft blog statement. They have scrubbed this from their site, but the Internet never forgets:

With the revamp, we’re completely overhauling every aspect of the player models, but our goal is to do so while retaining the core look and feel that has always made them your character. We’ll feel like we’ve succeeded if you see the updated version of your character and it still feels like you’re looking at the character you’ve been playing for the past however many years—only someone has finally focused a lens.

They didn’t do that. They didn’t even try. No professionals could be so incompetent as to make so many of the replacement characters so different without actively planning to screw them over.

Replacement Gnome and Original Gnome

Try to tell me that some artist tried to deliver what they promised.

Gosh, the old models look even worse than I remembered.

They broke their promise. Yes.

The new one is objectively much better than the 10 polygon creature next to it.

Why is the retail gnome smiling like that? My character does not smile like that, it always looks neutral/grumpy. I wish it would smile half as much as that.

I’m sure when they first introduced the new models, way back when, there was an option in interface to use old character models. Only you would see them, but I remember it helped with PC performance. Not an issue for me now, but back in the day it made a difference.
