Old quests only giving rewards of a specific armor type

Hi!

This is a very niché “problem” that has been a “problem” for close to a decade now, so unfortunately, I doubt this will get any traction. Still, it bothers me enough that it’s worth at least ranting about.

This is mostly an RP issue.

I recently recreated an old RP character I’m very fond of, and I actively went out to do a specific questline in Stranglethorn Vale as the most iconic part of his outfit was the One-Eye Patch. Unfortunately, it turns out my warrior can no longer get this item as it’s mail. Sure, I could make a mail-wearer, but then I wouldn’t have the rest of his outfit, which is plate.

This really bothers me in other instances as well, even though it’s limited to a few unique quest items. The transmog system is cool and advanced, but in an RP setting the limitation of having to work with my current gear is just annoying. What if I’m attending an event where a specific piece of equipment would look perfect, but I can’t get it anymore because it’s tied to old quest rewards?

I just think having the option to pick something cool over something usefull would be greatly appreciated. Sure, it is mostly an issue tied to older content, and yes, maybe it’s just that people who have played for a long time are more “spoiled” in this regard - having had the opportunity to get specific, old RP-y equipment. But stillllll.

Even though I doubt this is something that bothers enough people for it to ever be a concern worth putting time into for Blizzard, it’s secretely my #1 wish.

Hope everyone’s having a nice day!

Just advocate for the removal of tmog restrictions for armor.

Not like you can’t make some plate looking cloth, plate looking leather, plate looking mail or cloth looking plate.

Nor do NPC’s minor or major adhere to the restrictions. Posterboy being Anduin the priest wearing a two-hander/dual wield weapon and full plate armor while also using WC3 paladin ulti…

And then there is the cosmetic outfits which are whatever.

All in all, the tmog restrictions don’t exist for anything other than players.

I agree with this as well! What inspired this post was more the removal of something nice that already existed in the game (a long time ago) but I would not be opposed to taking it even further!

10000 % agree with the removal of transmog limits.
Doesnt make sense anymore with all the mogs from covenants, trading posts and shop.
