I don’t know if I missed something or if nothing was said about it.
So how is this going to work now? I’m assuming the old raids will be level 50, but will we have enough power to solo farm them (except Mythic)?
And what about the loot system? I hope we’re not getting 0-1 items per boss.
I suspect as far as loot goes, that legacy loot rules will be tweaked so they still apply to the prior expansion and everything below, i.e. Legion and everything before it.
In terms of character power we should still be able to blitz through old raids like we do today.
Most of our power doesn’t come from character levels, it comes from item levels. And at max level the item level inflation spikes like crazy in order to cover all the endgame progression.
So once you hit level 60 and start getting some of the new blues and purples, you’ll be as powerful as you are today, relative to old content.
But I’m sure Blizzard will clarify it all and provide some additional information in due time.
I would say the older content will be scaled down accordingly. It would not be in Blizzard’s interest to suddenly make an 11 year old raid or dungeon require a full group just on normal for transmog runs. The community would soon yell to the heavens. And rightly so.
edited post.
Think some old raids got a hidden multiplier too out attacks too.
Nothing should really change in that regard.
It’ll be like it was. Afaik.
It says on the home page down below
“You can still outlevel dungeons and crush them for transmogs or fulfillment.”
Thank you for your replies I was hoping it would be this way, but wanted to make a thread to confirm it as I’m sure we all remember how it was at the beggining of BfA before they fixed the scaling and squish.
for everyone once I am allowed to.
actually it’s mostly about levels. You can remove all your gear and you can still oneshot people.
However, they’ll balance it accordingly. Blizzard’s fully aware of the fact that old raid runs is a favorite thing of players in the community.
I’m mostly interested in the legacy loot system.
At the moment there is this 11 levels threshold before legacy loot gets activated, how do you guys think this will be handled in Shadowlands?
Probably same as it is handled now. Which is a shame, since making last expansion’s raids have personal instead of legacy loot is quite annoying and extremely RNG.
I think you didnt look at the numbers.
1-10 starter zone. 10-50 legacy content. 50-60 shadowlands
BFA is folded into the 10-50 legacy content like all other expacks.
Come post Shadowlands, I expect it will get dropped into the 10-50 bracket, as we get dropped to 50, and the new expack is 50-60 again.
