Levelling up a new character for the 100th time through classic which is the usual pick for me, however, I’ve noticed a lot of textures look… really good! I’m hoping it’s not a placebo effect from blizz mentioning they would improve some older textures for when we get the white grey mog.
Generally, blizz compresses textures the older the xpac is, to save space for new stuff, but I’m so excited that it seems they’re starting to put stuff back! For example, classic capes really seem to look snazzy now, without the blurry texture.
It’s probably the new engine effects. Some NPC textures have been updated if they make similar NPCs for new expansion but generally they don’t update older content textures.
NPC changes are very very obvious, because the entire thing looks hi res, and related to that, I’m a bit sad that none of the older dragonspawn seem to have the updated model.
but I’m specifically talking about things like, floor textures, building textures etc. but mostly armor seems to look a little better than it did; like the classic capes as I mentioned, they’re not totally blurry like they used to be with features unrecognisable, you can actually see the stitching and fur tufts etc. I really doubt their texture is getting overridden by anything in DF.
