One button from a disabled point of view

I am blind in one eye; I have dyspraxia, and I feel pain in my fingers due to a spinal injury. I have had these issues playing wow for 20 years. I am now also 59… I can solo 11 delves with ease on my warrior.

Having spent an hour or two on the 1 button. it will change the way I play wow; I enjoyed every moment of combat, it was no longer a struggle to kill stuff in the world. While I would not use it Solo on a delve it does help with placement skills as I no longer have to place them, thus making my hunter easier to play.

While many see it as the end of wow and woe is me… to me the 1 button will change the way I play and allow me to keep playing, it will take the pressure off most combat leaving me to focus on delves, solo.

I have issues with a few things in wow that could be improved, but the 1 button will change the way I play and many more people with issues like me, it may also bring in more players who RP or just want to roam around and collect stuff and play with their friends.

And a final thought, if you don’t like it don’t use it as It will not affect M+, or Raiding in fact it might make non timed runs more accessible thus getting more people into M+

I have to thank blizzard, as it will change the way I play.

That’s awesome, glad it helps you. Would still like it, if they simplified the actual class design as well, but it’s really good for accessibility regardless

Glad it helps you on your WQ and RP adventures. I would have preferd something else though.

However, this:

Maybe it might get more people to play M+. But 2 problems:

  1. Lack of healers and tanks. And you cant do 1-button macro for those rolls.

  2. But I don’t want these people in M+. It’s disrespectful for the other 4 people in the group.

There will always be a lack of healers and tanks and it has nothing to do with classes or rotation’s, and more to do with how they are treated by the M+ community. I Tanked for 15 years I love it, the thought of doing it again is not a good one in said community or raids I’m happy solo tanking delves.

Well I’ve been blind in one eye and had dyspraxia for 59 years so… my reaction times are probably faster than yours having studied the martial arts for 42 years… why should i stop gaming because of my age.

I have been treated as a super-hero for years. With praises and thank yous left and right.

I dont see this “nasty community”. So from my PoV its a you problem.

Then why do you use the one button feature?

there is no doubt that this is an extremely terrible mechanic that trivializes any sense of excitement and learning curve in an MMORPG

Since you are expressing yourself here…saying you are capable of soloing 11 delves with:

-blindness in one eye
-dyspraxia
-spinal injury
-59 years old

Well guess what? here are MY STATS.

-I am 34
-I work a 9-5 desk job that has began showing terrible health consequences
-I cardio frequently and workout to try to counter my desk job heath risks

and guess what?

I barely play an hour a day, because IT IS UNHEALTHY to sit more at a chair during the day, and because my back just cant handle it after work.

I NEVER will accept an MMORPG to have such a mechanic. We arent playing cards here.
i just get up and leave when im tired, because it IS UNHEALTHY for me at 34 years old to sit and play for longer than an hour or so

I THINK i can bestow upon you that wisdom if i may. As a 59 years old, i would suggest you not play WOW for too long. and in that 1 hour or so that you would like to play this unhealthy game during the day, you can tolerate the diverse buttons and exciting challenge it brings

Think of it as a fun 1 hour activity that triggers your senses, before going back to real life and cooling down and having a nice cool drink and taking a walk and meeting friends and family.

We DONT need to try make WOW everything.
WOW is just an MMORPG.
It takes your money and arguably some of your health, in exchange for your instant gratification.

WOW is not my daycare.
I get up and LEAVE WOW when its time to go do better things for my health and wellbeing, after I had my fun.

There are OTHER THINGS in life that i engage with when i kick WOW to the curb after i had my fun during the one hour i give it.

Other more meaningful and long lasting things that WOW has no business in.

Edit : if Blizzard decide to implement this only in PVE, and it is guaranteed that i will not have melee chasing me down in pvp while pressing one button, then i take back my entire post. I dont have any philosophical point of view about it. just dont implement this in PVP PLEASE.

your confusing word salad seems to suggest both it won’t affect M+ AND it’ll get more people in to M+ (which will affect M+ as it’s 1 button players). Lol.

So now Blizzard has to balance M+ dungeons around disabled players. Time to make sure your character automatically moves out of swirlies.

The game will become an auto battler soon enough, some people are completely blind. Some people have no arms. Better make sure they can play the game properly.

All i want from Blizzard is some notification that people are using this. I will simply leave any content where there’s a one button user present

I can guarantee you that actual disabled players do not wish to be handheld either. OP is a minority in this case. This just screams virtue signaling.

Yeah people with disabilities can’t function as properly as “normal” people. But that doesn’t mean that you have to dumb things down for them. People with disabilities find their strength in overcoming things with their difficulties.

We are only 10 years away until people just install themselves into a pod that gets them fed while they have a wire connected to their brain that shows them 24/7 brainrot so they don’t need to think about anymore. Decadence of society in full display and no one is seeing it.

This is just a fail, in general tanks and healers are treated like dirt. if they were all treated like hero’s there would be no Tank healer problem.

I’m glad the past 59 years of my suffering was so i could virtue signal in a post on a game forum.

lean to read, it will help non timed and won’t affect M+ which is generally now considered timed version.

My sides. Please. The laughing hurts too much.

So getting more people in to M+ (which is the timed version you claimed it won’t affect) won’t affect M+. Right.

I’m financially secure and never have to work again so I’m good on the IQ front.
